Iraq may be Obama's first 'test' (How Obama Will Try to Lose in Iraq)
A Scumbag Rag (LA Times) ^ | 11/2/2008 | Robert Kaplan

Posted on 11/02/2008 8:33:35 AM PST by mojito

....I refer to Iraq. The very issue that Obama wishes to put behind him in order to get on with other challenges, such as Afghanistan and climate change, has the power to drag him down -- and it will do so, if he becomes president, precisely because he wants it out of sight. Obama is not emotionally invested in Iraq; he was against the war, and he only grudgingly admitted the success of the "surge." Biden, for his part, has fervently promised voters that he and Obama will "end this war."

The problem is that both Iran and Al Qaeda -- like all of us -- have been listening to both men. And both the jihadists and the mullahs in Tehran are invested in not just an American withdrawal, but a humiliating one at that.

So what could happen? I fear a measurable uptick in violence in Iraq if Obama wins on Tuesday. The uptick will be significant enough to muddy the results of the surge, and the president-elect, rather than respond vigorously, will be tempted to say "I told you so" and thus win the Iraq debate with his Republican critics. The upturn in violence, he will be tempted to argue, only means we need to get out of Iraq even faster.

Kaplan is a very astute observer of military affairs; this scenario rings only too true.

Obama will end this war and start another, possibly in Pakistan and/or Darfur.

This is EXACTLY what will happen in Iraq if Obama wins. Remember, Obama is out to destroy our military’s ability to defend our country.

The vaunted “test of Obama” is a myth. They know he is a true friend of theirs at best, a fellow-traveler at worst. No need to test him,, they just call and ask for what they want. How often do you attack people who see the world the same way you do? (hate the constitution, the USA, Jews, Love Marx, socialosm, capitulating europeans,,etc,,)

The Biden “test” rhetoric is nothing more than a scam designed to make it appear that Islamic radicals and Marxist dictators really arent freinds of Obama. And since they don’t, Obama must be on “our” (USA) side. Get it?

“a measurable uptick in violence in Iraq”

A no brainer for Al Qaeda: Once BO is in charge, blow up as much stuff in Iraq as possible, anyway any how, the more dead bodies, especially of Americans, the better.

A nice WMD attack would be ironic.

The US will pull out quicker than than you can say, “quagmire”.

Abortion on demand
Iraq/GWOT retreat
No missile defense, FCS, reduce our nuclear arsenal.
Give enemy unlawful combatants more or less the same rights as a US citizen in the US.
Gitmo closed
Taxes and more government (cheese programs)
2nd Amendment means nothing in a living document
Gay rights all important and Constitutionally protected
Redistributive policies
Global warming is of course all important, like gay rights.
........

Change? What Change? Obama is a typical far left Democrat. The only difference is that he's black, skinny, and talks well; unlike Jesse Jackson, Al Sharpton, and some of the other loony liberal black leaders that arose from the Democrat party in the past. Same message content, prettier package.

Obama won’t be tested,, and certainly won’t start a war. Military will be an openly gay meals on wheels and the islamonuts won’t attack. They will be too busy trying to dig themselves out from under all the money he dumps on top of them, and too busy filling out immigration forms that are a certainty to be approved, and don’t forget dancing in the streets.

When he wins,,, they dont have any further use for attack, they shall have already won. And we will pretty much be France, England, or Germany in 5 years,,, over-run,, trying to stop optional sharia courts here at home.

I believe we will see a different scenario if Obama is elected. He's already starting to lower expectations for “change.” Obama knows that the draw down of U.S forces are already planned to coincide roughly with his timetable for withdrawal from Iraq. He has always stated he'd keep forces there permanently to guard against a Muslim takeover.

What you are going to see is the end game laid out by Bush, for which The One will get the credit. The news reporting of events in Iraq are going to seem much different starting in January of 2009. Mark my words.

We all forget that Nixon promised to end a certain war a long time ago. How many years did it take him, and how vilified was he? Good luck, Bambi.

"I fear a measurable uptick in violence in Iraq if Obama wins on Tuesday."

I'm skeptical of that happening right after the election. The time to have done something like that would have been a month or so before the election to try to affect the outcome. Not afterward when the results are already known.

But I do think it could happen soon after 0bama's inauguration as part of testing him out, as Biden said.

Obama isn’t just a misguided liberal American with misguided notions of how to achieve our mutual goals. He’s one of America’s enemies bent on our destruction. And soon he may be running the ship.

Iraq and Afghanistan are goners if Obama wins. So is Israel. IMHO Israel needs to take matters into its own hands and hit Iran with everything on November 5. PR and political concerns no longer matter should not be weighed. Save your self Israel. Buy yourself a couple of years and maybe our new King will be humbled. If not: You are dead.

Remember, Obama is out to destroy our military’s ability to defend our country.

Too, making Bush a liar for all historical time is a major liberal objective -- a necessary, self-protective one the 'Rats are completely in need of.

They'll pull out and fail, and we'll be lucky if the enemy don't wind up bagging a bunch of prisoners, which they will then hold hostage a la Lebanon and Tehran.

The 'Rats will stab our army in the back.

If what more and more appears to be true about Obama is in fact true, it won't be just Israel that will be in the soup.

America itself will be in play, and the result will be civil war in America, just as it was when the Bolsheviks made their play in Russia, with a butcher's bill payable in megadeaths.

We may end up showing the world humanity's very first civil war fought with nuclear weapons. How's that grab you?

Tragically not far from the truth I'm afraid. We've had it so good for so long we've forgotten how bad things can get. We may get a reminder very soon.
