Biden's Florida Rally Disrupted by Protesters
ABC News ^

Posted on 11/02/2008 7:54:27 PM PST by DocT111

ABC News' Matt Jaffe reports: Just 48 hours before Election Day, Democratic vice presidential nominee Joe Biden's rally Sunday at Florida State University was disrupted by a raucous group of Republican opponents just outside the event's gates.

About 30 supporters of Sen. John McCain, R-Ariz., and Alaska Gov. Sarah Palin blared sirens and chanted so loudly that they even got Biden's attention.

"Maybe those McCain folks can hear this, they’d be interested back there," Biden said over the din of the protesters just a hundred yards away. "They can hear this, I’ll say it loudly as I can. I thought it was a siren, it’s just a whine, I guess. It’s gonna be OK folks."

As he has always done on the stump, Biden then ripped McCain's economic policies.

"Look, if John actually had had an epiphany, if he had an epiphany, he would have seen the light," Biden continued. "But if he saw the light, he’d have to acknowledge that in fact the economic policies of the last eight years are the cause, the cause of the economic crisis we find ourselves in now."

The protesters chanted "Say it ain't so, Joe!" "Country first!" and "Obama's not ready, Joe you said it," referring to Biden's guarantee at a Seattle fundraiser that if elected, Sen. Barack Obama, D-Ill., would be tested by an international crisis within his first six months in office.

Wonder why the Media doesn’t report that BO supporters disrupt just about every McCain or Palin rally?

Probably because this time there were more protesters than supporters.

I hate crap like this. Leave it to the loser dems. This doesn’t help anyone. I believe in free speech, and Biden has the right to say whatever he wants. Why would any McCain supporter want to stop him, anyway? He does such a great job campaigning for McCain.

“This doesn’t help anyone.”

ON THE CONTRARY...
Giving Today’s Left-of-Mars Dems a dose of thier own medicine, then watching these “tolerant” liberals EXPLODE into an orgy of hate is a GOOD THING for our side.

the people need to SEE exactly who is running today’s Democrat Party....

About 30 supporters of Sen. John McCain

If All'BamaCoverage is reduced to reporting this, there must have been nothing else to say.

Yeah, well I have always thought, when I hear protesters at our rally’s; “I am glad we are better than that”....now we aren’t.

It is one thing to have signs outside, and counter balance their rally; but to disrupt free speech, is not what FReepers are all about. Only Marxists want to have no dissent. Only marxists believe that no speech but theirs should be heard.

Bad move on McCain supporters, IMHO.

I don’t think we can be deprived of anything by obeying the Golden Rule. We have higher standards to adhere to and need to do unto others as we would have them do unto us — no matter what they’ve done to us.

I say we get several dozen truckloads of coal and dump it at Obamas rallies.

"I hate crap like this. Leave it to the loser dems."

These folks were outside the gates to the event. They weren't inside with the rest of the loonies. They had every right to be there. The Left has consistently gained access to McCain-Palin events and disrupted the rallies. There's a big difference between protesting outside a scheduled event, and deliberately getting inside to disrupt a rally.

The McCain-Palin people weren't inside at the event. They were outside the gates, and had every right to be there. The Lefties have deliberately attended Republican rallies and disrupted them. These people did no such thing.
