JEFFERSON CITY - Nearly 20,000 people crowded the Missouri Capitol today as the Republicans’ "Road to Victory" cut through Jefferson City.

Among them were Jennifer and Mike Hoose, who made the 45-mile drive from Lake of the Ozarks to the state Capitol for the chance to see McCain’s running mate, Sarah Palin.

The fact that country-and-western star Hank Williams Jr. was on the program also helped to boost the turnout.

The Hooses, who said they "definitely" planned to vote for McCain, joined a crowd under a bright Indian summer sun and listened to music that included the refrain "as sure as your momma was Mrs. Obama, we don’t need your kind of change."

Jennifer Hoose said she was voting for McCain "mostly because I believe in a lot of the same values. Also, I think he’s just the better candidate to lead our country."

I love this woman. I dont mean this in a superficial shallow skin deep way. I am saying this as an American. She inspires me to dream big and reach toward the stars. Win or lose, she will always have a special place in my heart.

37 more hours!” said the Democratic vice-presidential nominee when he took the stage in Missouri. “37 more hours!”

Before a loud, lively crowd of 1,200 here in Lee’s Summit, Biden gave Show-Me State supporters a glimpse into the future.

“Asked why she supported the McCain-Palin ticket, Hart said, “We need a better economy. He’s going to do it. He’s not going to raise taxes. It’s going to be what we have before. You can’t lose with him. And God help us if Obama gets in. I don’t want this to become the USSA, the United Socialists States of America.”

I know exactly how you feel... not sure what it is.. but I just adore her... in fact, I just watched a replay of her acceptance speech at the RNC convention and it made me tear up a little... she is something special.
