WASHINGTON (Reuters) - Democratic presidential candidate Barack Obama's grandmother died of cancer, he said in a statement on Monday, a little more than a week after Obama interrupted the White House race to say goodbye to her in Hawaii.
"It is with great sadness that we announce that our grandmother, Madelyn Dunham, has died peacefully after a battle with cancer," Obama said in a joint statement with his sister, Maya Soetoro-Ng. "She was the cornerstone of our family, and a woman of extraordinary accomplishment, strength, and humility."
Dunham helped raise Obama from the age of 10 while his mother was working in Indonesia, and Obama took an emotional 22-hour trip to Hawaii to visit her on October 23 and 24.

Interestingly she, Grandma Toot, was living in her apartment, not in a rest home or with Maya. Tough old bird I'd say.

It's possible, some cancer treatments result in brittle bones. Plus the woman was 86, just last week. Brittle bones goes with that kind of age too, especially in women.

It doesn’t seem that Barack was that close to his grandmother in these later years, but I am sure he will think about how much she tried to do for him, and appreciate her memory.
I am praying for her soul, and for Obama’s daughters, feeling sad that they didn’t have much of a chance to know her.
Our Constitution is on life support and could be dead by tomorrow night Hawaii time.
Yup, she had given interviews to the press and she appeared in a commercial for him in April.

but I swear I called her “dying” the day before election.
She is voting McCain. She cannot stand Obama. She does not really have many PUMA friends or Democrat friends. He relatives in PA are going McCain.
