With just hours to go before the polls open on November 4, 2008, the latest and final IBD/TIPP tracking poll shows Senator Barack Obama with a 7.2 lead over Senator John McCain (51.5%, Obama 44.3%, McCain). All other candidates garner a combined 4.2%.

The tally above represents IBD/TIPP’s final estimate after allocating undecided voters. Prior to allocating the undecided vote, Obama’s lead over McCain is 5.1 points (47.5% Obama, 42.4% McCain, while all other candidates garner 4.1%, with 6.0% undecided).

IBD/TIPP allocated undecided voters in the following way: 4.0% Obama, 1.9% McCain and 0.1% all other candidates (combined).

IBD/TIPP’s final results are based on a random nationwide survey of the voting age population, which yielded a sample of 981 likely voters. Polling was conducted November 1st to November 3rd, 2008.

The margin of error is plus or minus 3.1 percentage points at the 95% confidence level.

Go figure. I STILL don't agree with them. I am still calling for McCain to get 52%

I keep reading stories about how a lot of Democrats are voting McCain - I don’t think they have any way to compute this.

I’m keeping my hopes up.

They’re assuming undecideds break for Obama. Sympathy vote? Doesn’t make sense otherwise.

I thought the final poll had a 2 point spread? Oh well. We know the undecideds, as well as some people “claiming” they will vote for Obama, will vote for the safe, non-Marxist choice.

I know several lifelong Democrats who HATE Republicans who will not be voting for Obama. Period.

What seems odd here is that out of the 6% undecideds they allocate 4% to Obama and 2 to McCain. Should have been the other way around.

Secondly they have third party candidates getting 4%. That is odd too. They wont even do 1 % combined.

whatever the case may be, all polls show Obama. So either we see the biggest upset ever with the pollster proving their dingleberries are worth more than their polling or that they were right all along and we have the first MARXIST president of the United States. I tend to believe the polls are right and we are doomed. Thanks RINOS! If I am wrong, then I will surely post that I am wrong tomorrow.

PUMA phenomena is very real and NONE of turnout models being used by any polling outfits has method for extrapolating this effect.

ALL of the polls will be wrong tomorrow.

That’s a good question. It’s a touchy subject, since they know I’m a conservative Republican, and I think it’s funny that they are in this position, but even if they just don’t vote, it’s a problem for Obama. They would have voted for Hillary. They are in AZ, GA, and MN. I’m really hopeful about MN.

I figure McCain wins easily, but I'm assuming a relatively honest election. Apparently the pollsters are factoring in the dead vote and the other fraudelent voting blocs.

Oh, and they are in their 70’s and 80’s. I think the elderly vote will be key.

Anecdotal, yes, but still I have 2 hard-core dems at work that aren't planning to vote. Both for different reasons but the thrust of it being that Obama is so far ahead there's no point to adding their votes to the Obama landslide.

I only hope more of these short-sighted libs think that way.

I’m hoping for the best too, and I assume the number of people lying to pollsters will surpass the number of fraudulent votes counted. If Obama manages to steal this thing I’ll have a hard time seeing a reason to vote again, and I’m so into it that I registered to vote at 17 so I could be ready to vote when I was 18! (Okay, I was a nerdy teen I guess......)
