A Special Election Message from Gun Owners of America

Gun Owners of America
8001 Forbes Place, Suite 102
Springfield, VA 22151
(703)321-8585

Monday, November 3, 2008

The big day is finally upon us. The phone calls, television ads, mail and emails will finally come to an abrupt halt.

Record numbers of people have already voted, and a record number of voters will be at the polls tomorrow. I hope everyone receiving this message falls into one of those categories.

You've heard repeated over and over that this is an historic election. It is, but so is every election.

Voting is one of the greatest responsibilities of a free society. The ability of the people to peacefully shift power from one party to another using the ballot box distinguishes free people from slaves, citizens from subjects.

Remember, the responsibility to vote is YOURS. It's non-transferrable -- only you can fulfill it.

Each election year, GOA offers a valuable tool for gun owners. Our candidate ratings guide offers insights into where candidates stand on your Second Amendment rights.

Please consult the GOA ratings guide before voting.

On the website, you will also find candidates GOA is proud to support this year under the "Gun Owners Top Picks" section.

Walter H. Judd, a medical doctor and missionary who spent 20 years in Congress following WWII, once remarked: "People often say that, in a [free country], decisions are made by a majority of the people. Of course, that is not true. Decisions are made by a majority of those who make themselves heard and who vote -- a very different thing."

Gun Owners of America urges all members and supporters to make your voice heard this Election Day, and vote!

Sincerely,

Tim Macy
Vice Chairman

The NRA had a ton of radio adds on the air here in my section of NC. Didn’t here any from GOA.

GOA is a much smaller organization than the NRA, and unlike the NRA, it never compromises on principle.

Let’s not squabble. Both organizations are a doing the Lord’s work.

Here, here, I second that statement.

BTW, I am a member of both!

While a state senator, Obama voted for a bill that would ban nearly every hunting rifle, shotgun and target rifle owned by Illinois citizens. That same bill would authorize the state police to raid homes of gun owners to forcibly confiscate banned guns

If he tries those on a national level, and I don't doubt he'd have the votes to do it, and it could get right sporting, don't you think?

The straight answer is the goa tshirt company didn’t do a GD thing during this election.

The goa doesn’t compromise because they never do anything.

I'll tell you two reasons why I don't like the GOA. They are constantly tearing down the NRA and they don't do a darn thing (except rip on the NRA). I am in the heart of gun country here in Southwestern Pa where even the democrats are pro gun. I heard a lot of NRA adds, but never heard one GOA add. My guess is that they didn't run any. The people that secure our gun rights in this country are the NRA. I'd give the GOA a pass if they did not constantly rip on the NRA.

Over the next two months, buy as many weapons, large cap magazines, and as much ammo as you can afford. Keep enough cash on hand to cover a month’s worth of necessities.
