I just got home about 25 minutes ago from a frustrating afternoon to say the least. Long story short...my wife and I were leaving a restaurant late this afternoon after voting and as we were pulling out I noticed a very tall male between the ages of 18-20 yrs of age spray painting the huge McCain/Palin signs that were in front of the mall...he was putting the word "DON'T" in yellow spray paint with a nazi symbol on the bottom.
He was doing this in broad daylight on a public road...so I turned my truck around and hauled it down the side of the road this was going on. I got out and immediately confronted this punk who proceeded to tell me to get away from him that it was "his right to campaign however he wanted to", then looked at my truck and saw McCain/Palin stickers on the back window and went with his can to spray my truck saying "You are one of them...you bastards are going down", I then paced down the sidewalk with him in a full on shouting match of him telling me the McCain sign was taxpayer dollars and he could do whatever he wanted to do...and yelling that he was 16 years old and I couldn't touch him or he would have me in jail and that he could hit me in self defense. He then swung at me screaming he was gonna kill me but did not connect the punch and the chase ensued. There was no way this punk was 16 yrs of age. He looked 18-19 yrs of age and was about 6 foot 5 inches tall.
He then took off as I was dialing 9-1-1 and started running in the mall parking lot all the while spraying cars as he was running across the lot.
The cops arrived within 2 mins but the punk vanished into one of the stores so they kept 3 squad cars in the mall and said they were going to wait it out and wait for him to come out and be sighted by mall security.
In the meantime...2 punks on the other end of the lot spray painted an Obama symbol and keyed approx 7 cars that had McCain/Palin stickers on their car.
The area this took place in Melbourne,Fla.
The police are still there and they took reports from witnesses.
I worked with the local campaign for nearly 2.5 months...I worked on putting those signs up...I'd be damned if I didn't do something about this. Unfortunately the police said all he would get is a night in Juvie Hall and a slap on the wrist by a judge (if he was really 16), they were praying he was older for the punch he threw and the multiple cars he damaged.
Amazing. Another instance of the party of tolerance. Kudos to you for standing up to the punk, too many of us are letting them take away our right of free speech through intimidation and threat. If we won’t even stand up to vandalism, how can we say we would live free or die?
This is just unbelievable. I’m staying home today and will venture out tomorrow, McCain/Palin and NRA stickers in full view.

Annie...I have been in some heated political battles in my life (Palm Beach 2000) etc...this was like someone was shooting someone on the side of the street and nobody was doing anything about it.
He simply had no regard for this property and felt it was his right to vandalize anything he chose to...it was his right. Other than a shouting match of civics and law...his spray paint can and the risk of him carrying and me not at the time was all the difference between this being a post about someone going to the hospital.

Talk to some “Pro’s” that work w/ kids this age. Huge entitlement mentality. On college campuses I hear the Anarchy Movement is growing. I hope I am wrong, but these trends combined with our side potentially “standing it’s ground” could lead to some interesting times.
The cops were calling the local McCain/Palin office who provided the signs that were destroyed. The car owners were furious beyond words...some were spray marks that were 4-5 inches long because he was running and others were more detailed.
The cars that were keyed looked like they were done with can openers.
Whether he wins or not, Obama is setting race relations back

tolerant and understanding for years, but not any more. For this rancher it’s time to practice the three “S’s”.
This is just a lack of willpower on the part on the DA to actually want to enforce the law. Matters not that the person was a minor. Minors shoot and stab people too.
Cowardice among law enforcement. DO THE JOB and stop looking for revenue ticket violators (speed traps).

I’m sure that you got some photos of the signs and/or cars that were damaged and it would be great if you would post them. Hard to believe the cops would have done all of that waiting around when the folks probably would not have been facing some fairly serious charges. What happened to the two punks that damaged and cars and didn’t disappear into the mall?

Violent outbursts like this are seeds that could lead in the future to wholesale civil war.

Two days ago my McCain sign was destroyed in the night. Had to replace it with two large homemade models and a Say NO to Marxism! Say NO to Racism! Say NO to NOBAMA! sign I cobbled up.

I was going to 192 a while ago and saw some punks taking down a big McCain-Palin sign by the cinema 16. I turned around and headed over but they scrambled and got into their car and took off.
Not a good afternoon, that’s for sure. I hope he is held accountable.

I’m sorry to tell you but you are right. I just spent 3 hours waiting in line to vote today with three Obamanauts standing behind me. They spent the whole 3 hours talking about the glory of the Obamessiah. When I was about to get my ballad, one of the girls pushed me aside to cut in front of me letting out a “Ha-Ha” (like Nelson from the Simpsons. That’s what we are dealing with. I also spent the whole 3 hours surrounded by Obama signs (gee no bias in public colleges, eh?) and hundreds of college students talking about the evils of our government. Things are really bad.
It won’t do any good to follow the law and stand up to them if the courts won’t back you up. When they violate our elections they should get a minimum of five years with no parole.
