For the life of me I can't see why America has chosen a multicolored socialist ahead of a proven war hero and patriot.
Incidentally I'm Austalian and have no direct personal involvement in your election other than emotional.
But we here (not me personally) chose the left recently with the mantra of change, it changed alright, it became worse.
Socialism has never worked anywhere, ever, and in this case it's even worse whereby the apparent winner has a record of past association with terrorists and America haters, that is not to mention a deep seated fear I have of there being something even more sinister like 'him' being a fifth column for something much more dire.
John McCain is 72 and has been through the highs and lows and will now have to return to his job in the Senate but I feel really sorry for Sarah Palin. For a newcomer to step onto the national stage with such aplomb was amazing and I hope her appetite is wetted and she will be back in 2012 when the socialist has bankrupted the nation and given in to all the terrorists.
I hope and pray that in the end this will be a beginning and not a decline similar to the great Roman empire.
You are not the only one. I am in a state of disbelief right not. Obama has more character flaws than any other candidate who has ever run for prez. Yet, the electorate doesn’t seem to care.

I have just stopped watching the election results- I can’t watch anymore. It looks like the country is going to be run by the three stooges and my heart is breaking. I’m a historian who has always believed that this is God’s country and filled with the best there is on the planet. My belief in this is being sorely tested.
There is one thing to remember about “Red Dawn”(mentioned in a previous thread) and that is that the kids who fought and the parents that sent them out are the type of Americans that are a minority now. At least half of the country, it appears, would be the types that would welcome the invaders and are willing to vote for the type of “leaders” they believe will give them something for nothing.
Unions will destroy businesses and what’s left will be taken by the government; jobs will dry up and the economy will sink into Carter-like malaise; prices will soar and double-digit inflation will weigh down on us. We might not have anywhere to go and b*&^h about it because the left will have its way with the Fairness Doctrine.
Every tin pot on the planet will come to realize that we have no will to fight and will do nothing as they become more adventurous; Russia will revive the “Bear” knowing we will do nothing. The nascent democracies in eastern Europe won;t be able to come to us, nor protect themselves. Chavez the Pig, Monkey Man and all the rest will use their oil to keep us in our place. We will NOT, now, drill our own or build refineries or power plants. Obama and the demonRATs will destroy the coal industry and “take” even MORE private lands, so as to “protect” them. The agencies will increase in size and be infested even more with leftists.
Those that hate us the most now run the show, and because of our unwillingness to take on the educational establishment, it won;’t get any better. They have indoctrinated our kids to the point where it is only a matter of time before they are ratting us out to the “authorities”. Ever wonder what “1984” was really going to look like? Look no further.
“Red Dawn”? We don’t grow them like that anymore...

2. The socialists have been in our school systems brainwashing the next set of voters and teachers
3. Did I mention ACORN?
4. The sitting President and our country is at war, it is difficult to win in that instance
5. The media thinks Obama is a god
6. We Christians in the U.S. have been coasting for awhile now, this is a test of our faith system. It will not be pretty.
I pray for an emergence of Sarah in 2012 as well. She could possibly come out of this disaster as the de-facto leader of the Republican Party.
Watch the post-election analysis though, the media will falsely claim that Sarah was a drag on the ticket.

Also, the reason why socialism hasn’t died is because every new batch of socialist leaders only believe it hasn’t worked because the right people haven’t been in charge to implement it. Also add the 60s socialists took over the education system has had 40+ years to indoctrinate kid after kid to believe socialism is the answer to all our problems.
America hasn’t chosen, don’t ever think that. We have been hijacked. The flow of real information has been stopped. We are in trouble.

I am also astounded and can only think that the information I have about Obama is not the same as the general public has.
That the media cover-up worked extremely well. Extremely well.
I am also afraid that the media spin will go on and on, no matter what mistakes he makes, no matter how many terrorists he invites to the Lincoln bedroom, no matter how he compromises our security -— the media will cover for him.
All I can think of is that we live in such a rich country, where no one ever fears or is made to deal with the consequences of their actions, that people think there are also no consequences to electing a man like this.
‘Oh well, everything will be okay. Why not try socialism? It might be fun’.
Those two things -— absolute media propaganda and a comfortable feeling that there will never be any consequences to bad choices.
My wife has on ABC, I can barely stand it. The people on ABC are so delighted, they can’t contain it.
But I have come to realize, this is totally about putting a black man in the White House. I’m sure that most don’t care that he’s a socialist, but do care that he’s black. The whites will consider it a debt paid, (it won’t be, the victimhood won’t allow for that). The blacks will consider it the beginning of payback.
America will go exactly the opposite of what the libs think. Rather than this uniting, it will divide America further, and deeper. And with the money woes, and class envy that will be happening in a decidedly monetarily poorer America... this is the beginning of very bad things.

It comes down to greed and covetousness. It seems if a candidate will promise to take money from “them” and give it to YOU, you can rustle up a lot of people to vote for that. It doesn’t matter if the candidate is an immoral thug, everything after “I will give you money!” is yada, yada, yada.
Isn’t it amazing. JFK fought the communists. Now his daughter and little brother help elect one president.

Decline? We don’t decline, my Aussie friend. This country needs an enema, and Obama is the Ex-Lax. The U.S. had a temper tantrum tonight. We’ll get over it. The novelty of Obama will wear off sooner or later. The same thing happened with Deval Patrick here in Massachusetts. There was a great feeling of hope when he was elected our first A-A governor in 2006, in part on his soaring promises with a veto-proof State House. And what has he accomplished? Nothing. Obama will try to accomplish, and he probably will get things done, but if he misjudges this result as an electorate eager for socialism instead of a referendum on Bush or the novelty of seeing him elected president, he’ll be this country’s first and last black president.
Feels like that scene in Star Wars Ep III where Palpatine takes over.

I was sitting here thinking of a title to a thread .... something along the lines of “Alas America, What have you done?” Now there are good optimists on these boards that belive it’s not over yet. I’d love to be one as I usually am an optimist but realistically, it’s over.
Today as my daughter was voting, she told me about an airhead girl that came skipping in wanting to vote for Obama Biden. She was corrected that it was Barack Obama but she exclaimed “No, I’m voting for Obama Biden, you know, like the sign”. It would be funny if it weren’t so sad that these Obamabots don’t have a clue to the real character of the man they just elected President of a country that was once the envy of the world. We must pray, hang on and plan on taking this great country back before it is totally ruined. I feel that Sarah Palin will be a big part of that plan in the future. Keep us in your thoughts “down under”. Your country has always been an ally and a good friend.
