Forget about "I told you so's", or all other prognostications or writings previously expressed on this forum. What matters now is the fact that we have risen from our beds to this real and prolonged nightmare.
Looking closely at who and what Obama is, the only thing I can relate this to in regards to "reasons", is that Obama MAY be the ANTICHRIST.
Look at the similarities in this scenario to that of the Biblical description of the Anti-Christ. The stage seems to have been set and the World situation is prime for this to be set in motion.
I invite observations from other FReepers in what similarites they might see, in much the same way I do.

There were quite a few people around here that must realize how much damage was done to this country by 8 years of irrational Bush Derangement Syndrome. Do they want to spend the next 4 years proving that republicans are no different than democrats when it comes to irrationality? We've already lost 2 elections trying to match democrats in policy.

I have more of a chance to break into Fort Knox then for Obama to truly see the light and have a divine epiphany to worship Christ and truly live and govern by the Golden Rule.
Israel is likely to be gone in just 4 yrs. and 0bama will start off a number of events that could very well lead to the end of the world. It really isn’t far fetched with the weapons available today and the world in the predicament it’s in.

This is a somewhat confusing area and there are many interpretations concerning this final beast empire and its ruler.
He is referred to as antchrist in 1 John 2.18, but he’s also referred to by several other names in the Bible. The man of lawlessness and the son of destruction-2 Thess 2:3; Gog-Ezek 38:2; the little horn-Dan 7:8; the king who shall do according to his (own) will-Dan 11:36; the destroyer and extortioner-Isa 16:4; the head of the house of evil-Hab 3:13; and even the personified abomination of desolation- Matt 24:15. So the Bible does in fact speak a great deal about him although the term antichrist isn’t always used.
The Bible does mention the rapture (or “coming” Gr: parousia) in several places and is clear about what is involved. The Lord himself gives a very detailed description in the Olivet Discourse:
“But immediately after the tribulation of those days the sun shall be darkened, and the moon shall not give her light, and the stars shall fall from heaven, and the powers of the heavens shall be shaken: 30 and then shall appear the sign of the Son of man in heaven: and then shall all the tribes of the earth mourn, and they shall see the Son of man coming on the clouds of heaven with power and great glory. 31 And he shall send forth his angels with a great sound of a trumpet, and they shall gather together his elect from the four winds, from one end of heaven to the other.” Matt 24:29-31
Paul also gives clear teaching as to the Lord’s coming and the things which must precede His appearing:
“Now we beseech you, brethren, touching the coming of our Lord Jesus Christ, and our gathering together (rapture) unto him; 2 to the end that ye be not quickly shaken from your mind, nor yet be troubled, either by spirit, or by word, or by epistle as from us, as that the day of the Lord is just at hand; 3 let no man beguile you in any wise: for it will not be, except the falling away (apostasy) come first, and the man of sin be revealed, the son of perdition (antichrist), 4 he that opposeth and exalteth himself against all that is called God or that is worshipped; so that he sitteth in the temple of God, setting himself forth as God. 5 Remember ye not, that, when I was yet with you, I told you these things? 6 And now ye know that which restraineth, to the end that he may be revealed in his own season. 7 For the mystery of lawlessness doth already work: only there is one that restraineth now, until he be taken out of the way. 8 And then shall be revealed the lawless one, whom the Lord Jesus shall slay with the breath of his mouth, and bring to nought by the manifestation of his coming;” 2 Thess:2-8
Another description by Paul concerning the sequence of events involved in the Lord’s coming or rapture:
“For this we say unto you by the word of the Lord, that we that are alive, that are left unto the coming of the Lord, shall in no wise precede them that are fallen asleep. 16 For the Lord himself shall descend from heaven, with a shout, with the voice of the archangel, and with the trump of God: and the dead in Christ shall rise first; 17 then we that are alive, that are left, shall together with them be caught up in the clouds, to meet the Lord in the air: and so shall we ever be with the Lord. 18 Wherefore comfort one another with these words.” 1 Thess 4:15-18
As Paul notes all of these things should be a great comfort to all believers, but evil is going to become more and more predominate especially after “the restrainer” is taken out of the way and evil is then allowed to run spiritually unhindered and the antichrist is at that point revealed.
It’s very difficult to watch as this descent into the abyss accelerates. I’m very down after what happened yesterday evening but we have to simply focus upon the Lord and the fact that He knows those who are His and He has promised He will never leave nor forsake us. Things are going to get very, very bad before they get wonderfully good.
