The McCain Classless Cowards
Michelle Malkin ^ | 11/05/08 | Michelle Malkin

Posted on 11/06/2008 3:38:47 AM PST by DocT111

The anonymous trashing of Sarah Palin by blabbermouth McCain aides who are leaking to Fox News is disgusting. Absolutely disgusting.

Allah’s got the vid clip of a report citing unnamed McCain staffers accusing Palin of lacking, in Carl Cameron’s words, “knowledgeability.” More slime here. And here.

At least all the Hollywood and Manhattan Palin-haters were willing to sign their names and put their faces on their attacks.

Let’s assume the rumor-mongers are telling the truth for a moment. Who does it damn more: Sarah Palin or McCain and his vetters who green-lighted her for the vice presidential nomination? Don’t need an Ivy League degree to figure that one out.

Sarah Palin worked her heart out. She energized tens of thousands to come out who would have otherwise stayed home. She touched countless families. I didn’t agree with everything she said on the campaign trail. But two fundamental conservative stands she took mattered greatly to me: She vigorously defended the Second Amendment and the sanctity of life more eloquently in practice than any of the educated conservative aristocracy.

And she did it all with a tirelessness and infectious optimism that defied the shameless, bottomless attempts by elites in both parties to bring her and her family down.

Shame on the smearers who don’t have the balls to show their faces.

Thank you, Sarah Palin. Thank you for stepping up the plate and serving your country.

Anyone prone to wickedness hates her.

Here's why

I remember well... what I do not understand is why they do these things. It is not as if mitt can't stand on his own merit. Perhaps it is a flaw in the man's makeup.

Those were the same sentiments about Dan Quayle on this forum until some governor from Texas began quietly locking up support.

I wouldn't say the McCain staff is throwing her under the bus. It appears more to me that she laid in the middle of the road challenging the bus to run over her and the bus driver did nothing to avoid it.

The battle for the soul of the Republican party began yesterday, and the RINOS took the first shot.

If there are McCain Staffers bad mouthing Sarah Palin, those same staffers need to take another look at the attendance at Palin rallies vs. McCain rallies.

Palin probably had 4 or 5 times the number of people at her rallies vs John McCain.

I went to John McCain’s rally at Tampa’s Raymond James Stadium on Monday before the election and there was less than 4,000 people at his rally.

This was not a good indicator of how John was going to fare on Tuesday in Florida. There are over 3 million people in the greater Tampa Bay area and John McCain could only draw 4,000 people to attend his final rally in Florida.

Meanwhile, I recall reading that Sarah Palin in the last days drew something like 20,000 folks to the Jefferson City Missouri rally and that city has a population of something like 60,000.

The numbers speak louder than any words from the McCain campaign, MSM who is afraid of Palin, or any other talking head.

If there are any McCain staffers reading, I have a few questions. 1- Did you really think you could win without a big bump from the VP. 2- Did you really think McCain’s policy of campaign disengagement was a successful one, given that he had so much stacked against him. 3- Is the burn the ships mentality a good one to have given that you might be looked at for additional campaign work down the road. 4- Will the democrats invite you to the good inaugural parties now that you trashed their enemy?

According to this, it’s some of the Romney staff, including Kevin Madden. If that’s the case, it’s very unfortunate as I thought Kevin was a pretty good spokesman when I saw him on FNC.

I read a post yesterday and there was a woman, don’t recall her name (I want to say it was Naomi or something like that), that they thought may be involved.

I’m totally disgusted by this whole thing (I’ve been hearing it all morning on FNC). I got so angry I went to the johnmccain.com site and sent this mail(probably should have spent time wordsmithing it - but, I think they’ll get the message of what I’m thinking and feeling right now):

Dear Senator McCain,
Your speech and the delivery of it was very classy. What has transpired since then with your staff is one of the unclassiest and most despicable things I’ve ever witnessed. Quite frankly, the only reason I donated to your campaign is because of Gov Palin. This is a time when Republicans and Conservatives should be coming together for the good of our country and our party. Instead the thugs inside of your campaign are doing whatever they can to disparage and slime a competent, wonderful leader, Gov Palin.

Country First?? That’s not what your campaign staff is showing now - - they’re showing ‘me first’ and trying to cover their bums.

Sarah and her family worked tirelessly for you and the campaign; and, instead of receiving praise and thanks, they’re receiving these disgusting comments and ‘leaks’ to reporters. Perhaps the idiots that ran your campaign should look to themselves and the poor handling they did of same, instead of blaming Gov Palin.

You asked us to ‘Stand Up and Fight With You’. I’m asking you to Stand Up and Fight With Us and For Sarah, and against these slime balls. Order them to stop and then fire them. In addition, you should come out in support of Sarah.

My friends and I have had it!!! No wonder Republicans lose, they eat their own - unlike the Democrats who stand up for the likes of thieves like Wm Jefferson.

I’ve been a Republican for a long time, however, if this keeps up, I may switch to an Independent. As you can tell, I’m extremely angry about the treatment of Gov Palin, and, I can assure you, I’m not the only one.

Enough is Enough!!!

Sincerely,
SC

I’m no fan of Bill Kristol but he said on Fox and Friends today that these people are paranoid and delusional and he believes it ran right up to top with Schmidt and Wallace.

You know, I forgot about that. This mirrored the 96 campaign in so many ways. They were disorganized, egocentric, and appeared desperate at times. Neither McCain nor Dole posed a serious threat and all the dem had to do is shut up and coast to the finish with a lot of help from the willing media lapdogs.
I worked on the Clinton/Gore 96 campaign and they knew from the outset that victory was assured, all they wanted to do is to claim a mandate with an overwhelming victory, which they never got. I'll never forget the disrespect they showed Dole and nobody really called them out on it, except me.
