The Platform of the American People
American Solutions ^

Posted on 11/06/2008 5:29:17 AM PST by FloridaBattleGround

All,

In 1996, when the GOP took back the House and Senate, we had the Contract with America led by Newt Gingrinch. Well, Newt has now done research and has written the "Platform of the American People" which is a bipartisen platform that has conservative roots in it. Please go to the website, sign the petition, save the PDF document, and tell your family and friends about it.

If we are going to win the next election, we need to start getting on the same page so we are synchronized. Newt Gingrich has done this before and I think we need to rally behind this document. Spread the word and get fired up for 1010!!! (And then 2012!!!).

Skeptical on Newt’s freshness, but mark for later.

I will definitely look at this. I have heard more sound ideas come from Newt than from any other politician.

“8 We believe that if research indicates we could build clean coal plants in the United States with no carbon emissions, it would be important to build such plants as rapidly as possible. (71 to 8)”

Combustion of hydrocarbons without producing carbon dioxide? I’ll have to start on that project when I’m done with my perpetual motion machine.

CO2 isn’t a pollutant. Ask your nearest tree. The other ideas sound good.

We mocked Obama as a community organizer, but let us not overlook the fact that his constituency now has one central command for information, policy, and dissemination. We don't. We're independent and all over the map.

They will follow him like lemmings. How do we break through with our message?

Relying on the American public to seek out the truth is simply not enough. We must bring a voice of equal weight to challenge his message at every turn.

Newt has been an adulterous and pettily vain politician. His vanity greatly vitiated his political effectiveness. His ideas have considerable merit, but unless he has had a serious come to Jesus episode and gives credible evidence of it, I cannot give him my support.

I read it, and I think it definitely lays the foundation for a renewed Republican Party.

We may have some differences with regards to specific aspects of the program, but (as a whole) it is something that I think the majority of conservatives can support with a clear conscience.

With regards to the “clean coal” issue, read what the platform says: “IF research indicates we could build clean coal plants in the United States with no carbon emissions, it would be important to build such plants as rapidly as
possible.” So, until such time as clean coal technology is feasible/available, we will continue to build traditional coal plants. The goal is not to stop using coal until the perfect solution is found, but to continue to utilize the available “imperfect” solution until a better alternative is found. The seems perfectly logical and realistic and, as such, eminently conservative.

I think this program of action ought to be at the center of the next CPAC, and it should be put to a vote as the new Republican Party platform going into 2010.

The inference is because it appears you just got back to earth from deep space.. The republican party has become a mythical figure.. It dont exist anymore.. as republican it exists as a kind of democrat or a version of democrat.

Democrats are for a Democracy..
Republicans are the Republic...
The United States is NOT a democratic republic..
