Rahm Speaks - KOS Konfused
Press Release ^ | 11.6.08

Posted on 11/06/2008 4:56:38 PM PST by swordfishtrombone

Rahm's acceptence statement:

I know what a privilege it is to serve in the White House, and am humbled by the responsibility we owe the American people. I’m leaving a job I love to join your White House for one simple reason - like the record amount of voters who cast their ballot over the last month, I want to do everything I can to help deliver the change America needs. We have work to do, and Tuesday Americans sent Washington a clear message – get the job done.

I have loved the time I spent in the House, both the successes and the setbacks, and I am grateful to the people of the Fifth Congressional district who sent me to work on their behalf. I was proud to serve on a leadership team with Speaker Pelosi, Majority Leader Steny Hoyer and Majority Whip Jim Clyburn. They have taught me invaluable lessons—even a few lessons in humility, believe it or not.

I want to say a special word about my Republican colleagues, who serve with dignity, decency and a deep sense of patriotism. We often disagree, but I respect their motives. Now is a time for unity, and Mr. President-elect, I will do everything in my power to help you stitch together the frayed fabric of our politics, and help summon Americans of both parties to unite in common purpose.

It has been almost 150 years since Americans turned to a proud son of Illinois as their President. Early in his first term, Abraham Lincoln said, "The dogmas of the quiet past are inadequate to the stormy present. The occasion is piled high with difficulty, and we must rise with the occasion. As our case is new, so we must think anew, and act anew.

Today, once again, our country is piled high with difficulty, and Americans have put their trust in President-elect Barack Obama and Vice-President-elect Joe Biden to think and act anew. And Mr. President-elect, I promise that your White House will do everything in our power to rise to the occasion.

Weird pick ... no doubt intentionally misleading; you don't sacrifice that long to the Altar of Alinksy without some psy-ops skillz

The DLC is hated by the "true" Progressives for their perceived sell-out to corporations; also, they've garnered funding from the Bradley Corp and were ultimately for the the Invasion of Iraq. The KOS Kids who carried Obie's water the longest will be hard at work trying to spin this

Rahm is a vitriolic, loud mouthed SOB and makes no bones about it... the silver lining here is the take-no-prisoners approach he'll adopt will make the RINOs who've raped the Conservative movement since Reagan left office bereft of what little cover they have remaining

*Lindsey Graham, please pick up the white courtesy phone*

But from me...I think Obama's pick here is trying to deceive Israel.

A brutal loud mouth isn’t a problem. It is our best hope to get some serious rivalry and tension going between the Executive and Legislative Branches. The Dems controlled it all during Carter’s time, but they were at each others’ throats due to Carter’s imperious behavior.

Um...why is KOS confused?

Umm... because Obama picked someone as his Chief of Staff who's vehemently against towing their specific line? It's a mixed review over there... which speaks volumes when it comes to Obama.

At a dinner to celebrate President Clinton's first election victory, Mr Emanuel began to name those who he believed had earned his enmity. As he listed the names of those he saw as traitors, he grabbed a steak knife, stood up and began plunging the knife into the table and shouting "Dead! Dead! Dead!" after each name.

... And Suddenly he's a statesman? Yeah, riiigght.

We were pretty appalled at the Clinton administration minions for their low class nastiness. They were just a reflection of a low class couple.

What we are looking at now is many degrees worse, because the boss and his wife are. So that’s what we have.

These people are disgusting and dangerous. I have to put up with them, but I don’t have to shut up about it.

I will do everything in my power to help you stitch together the frayed fabric of our politics, and help summon Americans of both parties to unite in common purpose.

And the patriotic Americans who opposed The Affirmative Action President will react to being poked with a needle as one would expect, even if Obama and propagandist Rahm claim the needle is just for stitching us together. I'm happy for the PUMAs to unite with free conservatives for the great and noble common purpose of ensuring that there is still a free country left to govern once the clock runs out on the socialist Affirmative Action President's first and I pray only term.

Don’t kid myself?

Rahm is a bastard; he’s also a great asset. His approach will prevent in-party unity among Liberals. Art of War, anyone?

No offense here, but your line of thought is exactly what’s wrong with the Conservative movement

We can’t seem to distinguish our enemies; instead, the Liberals are one great big amalgamation of evil and corruption, like some unstoppable juggernaut. These people are all individuals, they love tearing each other down more than Conservatives ever will and while they have strength for the present, our only hope is to rebuild with clarity while they fight amongst each other... if we had an orator halfway capable and slick as Obama espousing Conservative ideals instead of populist-veiled Marxist scraps, this country would be CRIMSON RED right now

You know, we have a great advantage over them. As the movie "Patton" said "Rommel... you magnificent bastard, I read your book!"

We've read Alinsky, we've had two years of intensive schooling in those methods, and in the biography Obama. We know Obama perhaps better than he knows himself.

Never forget that, never doubt our own informed read on these masters of propaganda, pretending and usurptation.

Rahm was hired to protect Obama from a radical agenda being pushed down his throat. He's protecting him from democrats bridging him to the House and Pelosi, at least for now

The House will be pushing a radical agenda which currently Obama cannot afford to spend political capital explaining why radical legislation is good for America.

Rahm has the connections and pull to get the moonbats to back off and let Obama govern from the center left until America has gone back to sleep.

What will come later after the "O" zombies wake up from the dead and realize they been scammed. The "O" will change anything he wants and he will just tell it to them suck it up like the street thug he is.

And the multimillionare tax-fraud vermin lives in a beautiful mansion owned by the Ralm Emanuel Foundation, PAYING NO PROPERTY TAXES. At the same time planning to massively raise all our taxes.

One day post election and Obama shows his true nature, appointing this monster.

Hey pal, it’s no secret that the liberals are a conglomeration of weasel factions and they will always be fighting amongst themselves. You have no special insight in bringing up this point. My point was that Rahm Emmanuel is a piece of shit, and he is. And regardless of how much infighting might be caused by his presence, most of his ammo will be fired at our side, as will most of those other ‘infighters’.

I’ve been back and forth on whether it’s better or worse for Republicans chances in 2010 and 2012 if he governs from the center. If he doesn’t, a lot of people might be put off by his radical left agenda (then again people heard him talk about redistribution of the wealth and still voted for him.) If he does govern from the center, he might piss off the left who largely funded his campaign and the radical lefties might not be as pumped to “Barack the Vote” in 2010 and 2012. But then Conservatives will also have to make the case that conservatism is better than the “center.”

I'm very disappointed in the outcome of the election. There are consequences to losing, as the new "Obama Rally" on the stock market is showing everyone. Nonetheless, I wish no ill to my country so I hope for the best, knowing that it could get a lot worse.

Oh look here I am, singing his praises from the rooftops... my point to you, pal, is that anyone Obama is going to pick will have our side screaming "Oh no, what a scumbag!" ad infinitum. If we adopt this approach any longer, we're done. The media has managed to paint all republicans under one Bush banner; too bad CONSERVATIVES feel otherwise. Rahm is a vulgar, tax-dodging hatemonger who could use a Chicago-style ass kicking... my point is that a huge portion of the in-the-know-Left thinks the SAME THING. Are you listening to me at all?

Rahm is a Jew

He’s also a Jew who brokered the Rabin & Arafat handshake deal under Clinton and wet his pants with glee because of it

He’s the worst kind of Jew... the one who capitulates to the PLO thinking they can truly compromise; thanks, Oslo Accords

There is one language fundamental Islam understands: force... Obama and Rahm don’t get this, and neither do the majority of American Jews

Hey guys: watch this space. It appears that Emmanuel uses a flimsy loophole to avoid paying real estate taxes on his large Chicago residence. He and his wife created a dummy charitable foundation and are claiming that their entire residence is off the tax rolls, because the “charity” has its HQ there. The charity has only a few thousand bucks in its coffers and contributes to his kids' private school. (Yes, like virtually ALL urban liberals, he sends his own kids to private schools.)

There are hundreds of thousands, if not millions, of Jews like Ram Emmanuel, even in Israel. He is not the worst kind of Jew; many tried to make peace with the palestinian arabs; even now they have a pseudo-peace with some and are vigilant on the borders; I only hope they do not turn out to be the monsters I fear they are. Maybe we will be fortunate and Obama will end up being no worse than Bill Clinton while having a positive effect on the millions of black (can’t really call them minority anymore) youth who destroy their own lives.

They are very clever in their lies. Still remember Paul Begala on Don Imus right afer the Clinton election. He sighted the Electoral College numbers to substantiate a “mandate”; ignoring the reality Clinton got only 39% of the popular vote.

Yes, like virtually ALL urban liberals, he sends his own kids to private schools.

Most people with money and poor public schools send their kids to private school, or home school. If the public schools are good enough they might use them. It is the people who cannot afford private school or are unwilling/unable to home school that are disadvantaged. I suspect the public schools in Wasilla are good enough to use.

I agree, and I have no idea how you got the notion I care what the MSM or any institution or person says. I’m an ultra-Conservative living in Los Angeles for God’s sake... I went to Obama debate parties and argued with 20 bleeding-heart idiots at a time. Just yesterday, I drove through the gayest area of the city with “YES ON 8” signs to celebrate taking the wind out of their sails and use their own bully tactics against them for a change

Eggshells? Not me, FRiend-o

The entire point of this post was to illuminate the first perceived miss-step Obama has made in the eyes of the Left and how we need to react and observe accordingly, not excuse Rahm or paint Obama in a positive light. Political jiujitsu is the only thing that can help us from our current vantage, no?

Yes, Emanuel seems to be a true pos.

The following article details it all:

http://marcambinder.theatlantic.com/archives/2008/11/early_republican_reaction_to_r.php

Let’s not forget this little tidbit - Clinton appointed Emanuel onto the BOARD OF FREDDIE MAC. And Emanuel received massive amounts of campaign cash (for his own campaign) from Wall Street.
