Election Day exit polls this week made clear that President-elect Barack Obama has a broad mandate to get the faltering U.S. economy back on track. There is no shortage of proposals already circulating in Washington. But as more reports pour in showing the downturn accelerating and spreading around the world the short-term impact of the new administrations policies may be limited.
Voters made clear they want the new Congress and Obama administration to make the economy a top priority. More than six in 10 voters surveyed chose the economy as the most pressing issue facing the nation, and nine of 10 said the economy is in bad shape. The other four major issues cited as most pressing Iraq, energy, terrorism and health care were picked by one in 10 or fewer.

Talk about major backtracking. They will never admit that the current stock market downturn is because of Obama.

Bankrupting the energy sector and installing Squeaky Kennedy to head the dept of energy will be a great start.
Buy batteries folks.

Maybe not, but at least someone needs to go out and measure the ocean level, because it should be starting to recede right about now.

Well, the US picked the wrong person to fix the economy. We are in for the closest thing to another depression. BO is just going to make it worse

I love how Obama and the MSM are already campaigning for 2012. Even in his speech, he did it. In fact, that’s all this guy has ever done. He campaigned for stuff.

If so, he cannot implement his socialist plan.
Remember, he wouldn’t support drilling our own oil because there would be no immediate benefit.
Looks like he’ll have to find another plan.

The great fallacy of this age is that someone can “fix” the economy. It was government intervention that got us here and it will always be government intervention that makes it worse.

Sending a socialist/marxist to fix a free-market economy is like sending the guy in the fuel-oil truck to put out a fire in an apartment building.
In this case, though, the guy delivering the fuel-oil is also an arson.

The Drive-by media is already helping Obama backtrack from his promises. The only thing Obama will do with the economy is raise everyone’s taxes but when it makes the economy worse he will claim that it was in such bad shape.

Private employers last month made their deepest job cuts in six years, according to a widely watched report, and planned layoffs surged to their highest in nearly five years. Cutting payrolls before the minimum wage is hiked under the Obama administration.

Voters made clear they want the new Congress and Obama administration to make the economy a top priority. Yeah, good luck with that. By the way, keep your hands on your wallets. The tax bell tolls for thee, "voters".

Impeach Obama Now!!!!!!!!!!!!
To: tobyhill
The Drive-by media is already helping Obama backtrack from his promises.
This was all in the plan. He knew and they knew that he could fulfill those outrageous promises, but the rat matto is "win at all costs". Get the power first, that's the main thing.
