Palin for president? Not if McCain team can help it

There was more war than there was peace on the McCain-Palin ticket, American voters are starting to learn, especially in the last few weeks of the presidential election as top lieutenants serving the senator from Arizona became increasingly appalled by the freelancing ways of the very well-dressed governor from Alaska.

McCain barely knew Palin when he chose her. And aside from those few rallies when they appeared together, for instance in Hershey, Penn., one week before polling day, they barely spoke to each on the trail, especially towards the end.

The recriminations will be flowing both ways. Palin, who has returned to Alaska after commenting briefly on the tensions in Arizona on Wednesday, has more reason to manage the post-poll gossip trading to her advantage than does McCain. He is returning to his Senate job and his ambitions beyond are of the golfing variety. Not so Palin, whom some see as a future leader of her party.

"There is absolutely no diva in me," she told reporters in Phoenix. If she meant it to be good-humored, the context was much more brittle. Diva was the pejorative term applied to Palin in the dying days of the campaign by an unidentified source in the McCain circle. On the day she and McCain appeared together in Hershey, a writer for the Politico website reported a McCain aide calling her a "whack job."

The McCain people have no honor. None at all.

Sarah Louise Heath Palin will be back.

Giving up is not in her DNA.

The only smart decision McCain made all campaign was picking Palin..

Since that day, he made one bonehead move after another.

Ironically, Sarah Palin appears to have done the right thing in expanding the wardrobe, look at what the snakes are trying to do to her now!

Notice no mention of the wardrobe being auctioned off for charity?

I predict Palin will be stronger as a person and get more respect over the course of time.

Fox & Friends were just discussing this. They had Brent Bozell (WFB Jr’s nephew) on with them. He called the anonymous sources “nameless faceless cowards.” Something like that.

BS. McCain's ambitions will remain what they always were -- advancing his liberal agenda and poking his finger in the eye of conservative America.

Team MeCain hated and resented having to put a Conservative on the ticket, bottom line.

Juan McAmnesty really wanted another RINO or Joe Leberman.

The hot-head, mean, nasty 'Old Man' showing his true colors!

I didn't hear Juan refuting any of talk from his team!!

The libtard press keeps telling “the big lie” - both camps have said there was no such “war” - but the press wants to make sure what they fear most (palin) is brand damaged as badly as possible.

Where are all the stories about Zero raining down on Biden for his many gaffes/moments of truth? I can't imagine hugs were being shared after the Ohio coal truism or the Barack will be tested in 6 months tidbit.

The McCain campaign staff refuses to face the fact that they ran a terrible, terrible campaign and that the one thing they did right was pick Palin. Prior to Palin’s speach at the convention, I had not donated one penny and had planned to write in Fred Thompson. After Palin, I donated money and put up yard signs, not for Juan McLame, but for Sarah Palin. If not for Palin, McCain would have drawn about as many people to his rallies as Biden did.

Funny how McCain wold hear no evil of Obama, but he can’t wait to dish dirt, true or not, on Palin.

It says all you need to know about McCain.

What do you expect from a bunch of RINO’s who accidentally chose a real conservative for the VP slot.

My crystal ball tells me that McCain will assume the deserved mantle of perpetual loser. Will carry on poking the a stick in the eye of Americans, and become as despised as that guy who served in VietNam ... what's his name?

Governor Palin will continue to serve Alaskans well, and may yet become someone to reckon with, in the yet to be formed, New Republican Party.

It's gonna happen, RNC diehards. With or without your worthless "blessing": it IS gonna happen.

It was the late-added presence of SARAH which energized an otherwise moribund and apathetic conservative voting base.

It was SARAH who drew record-shattering crowds everywhere she went on behalf of a sour and ungrateful McCain campaign.

Friendly little word of warning to any/all RINOs out there reading this, and thinking about standing in the way between this amazing woman and the conservative base that adores her, anytime during the next four years:

You're expendable to us. SHE isn't.

McC was the Dem’s wet dream - old, wrinkled, white guy. The GOP has about two years to get its act together, and the young guns (Palin, Jindal, Cantor, etc.) have about a year to lay the groundwork and strategy to assume the leadership and/or decide if they want to run for POTUS next time around. The more BHO tries to push the liberal agenda, the more vulnerable he will be. Despite what the MSM tells us, this country is still on the right side of center. This is all assuming that the country is still around in something resembling its current form in 4 years. PS - I’m an old wrinkled white guy too.

If the national cmapaign were run as shoddily at the state/local levels, it makes sense that this was a loss for the GOP.
