My children are still traumatized by being forced to read “I Know Why the Caged Bird Sings.”

Too bad the feeling isn’t mutual.

Boy, look at all the typos today! Now, with corrections:

Anyone who feels they need to apologize for being American shows the fact that they have a weak mind and a cowardly character. I go to Europe frequently and got the typical anti-American slurs all the time until I made it clear that their comments would not sway me and that I didn’t care what they thought. Believe it or not they respect me more for that. Those who don’t-I don’t want them as friends anyhow. There are many enlightened Europeans who understand America’s greatness, but their voices are usually drowned out by the masses of sheeple.

Barf alert please. Please.

Her poetry sucks - if she isn’t proof that anything is possible here, I don’t know what is.

With all due respect to Maya Angelou, she has lived the American Dream as a respected author and influencial public figure. She has lived a rich life, compared to those living in other countries.

If she was so ashamed, and things were so bad here, Ms. Angelou could have moved to, oh, Africa, or Great Britain.

This just goes to show you that not all fools are uneducated and unintelligent.

Strange, I’m still ashamed of her.

And the reason? I have never been “traumatized” by any book.

I wonder if she is tuned in to what France has done in the Ivory Coast.

Unfortunately, we will still have to apologize to the rest of the world for Ms. Angelou's God-awful poetry.

I know. It is awful. I could post a word on here and have a bunch of Freepers add their own single words and that’d be a poem to her.

This is the woman who declared Bill Clinton was the “First Black President”. And when you look at her reasons, it a laundry list of pretty much every racist stereotype of black people.

Here's a poem for Maya:

Maya was a little rat,
Her speech was tres effected,
And everywhere that Maya went,
Much B*llsh*t was detected.

Her poetry is laughable,
Like something that a child wrote.
Her looks are reminiscent of
A rabid Turkmen wild goat.

Our schools are forcing kids to read
The "poems" of this Marxist,
But no one would have heard of her
If her skin wasn't darksest.

I took considerable poetic license with the last word above, but felt it acceptable as a tribute to Maya Angelou's breathtaking lack of talent.

...And for Britain, God love ‘em...they ever had a black monarch? No, don’t answer that. That’s silly. But how about prime minister? major cabinet minister? Lord Chief Justice, Head of Division, Law Lord, Lord Justice of Appeal? mayor of a major city or county?

Again, no hurry.
