I wonder what favors those will be. He has yet to accept any pork spending for Oklahoma. It will certainly be news when he finally gets something for this supposed sell out.

I find it interesting that after 8 years of complaining about the Democrats being little more than anti-Republican and anything the Republicans want to do, we now have people that only want the Republicans to be anti-Democrats.

This isn’t a surrender to the agenda of the Democrats. It is simply a fact that we can work together on some things while disagreeing on others. This is a call to remain principled but to actually accomplish things that need to be accomplished.

Why work with the democrats? Bipartisanship only happens when Conservatives cave in, and I am tired of incremental surrender to those socialist/fascist slugs. Coburn should stand up to the Obamanation and tell him to go to hell. Conservatives need to go on the offensive and make politics and life miserable for them.

All this nonsense about being gracious to the victors is just an excuse to not stand up for conservatism and its principles. This talk of reaching out to one another is designed to make conservatives feel as though they are wrong for having strong beliefs. This is intended to make conservatives doubt themselves and, thereby, let the supposed conservative politicians off the hook.

So what do you propose? Say Obama keeps his promise of reviewing the budget and eliminating wasteful unneeded programs? Should the Republicans still in office fight him tooth and nail on it? Seems counter-productive to me. It also isn’t caving in. This isn’t giving the Democrats carte blanche and I don’t understand how some people are reading it that way.

One thing about the far left is that you know if they sound even the slightest bit conservative they are just lying. The scenario you suggest will never happen.

I agree with you — he has always put Country first and he is one of the most vocal opponents of earmarks in the Senate. Dr. Tom tells it like it is and if you don’t like it, tough, is the attitude I have seen out of him since he first took office.

Our completely Red State is lucky to have two Senators who don’t put their finger in the wind to see how it is blowing. They may not win a popularity contest but they stand up for Oklahomans and American which is what we send them to DC to do.

First I should get the notion that I am any kind absolutist out of the way. I voted for Romney in the CA primary despite the retard wing of the Republican party advocating for others because Mitt is a “gosh durn Mormon” and somehow a liberal despite making better cases for conservatism than most of the Republican senate. So I think we agree on the misplacement of “rino”.

That said, I will NOT simply forgive anyone who endorsed or voted for one of the worst candidates we’ve ever had during the primary. Not anyone in the party, not anyone on Free Republic. And now Coburn is angling himself to be a reach across the aisle guy. It’s so obvious he wants to be a big name in the “historic” era of Obama, otherwise he wouldn’t have been so quick to write that garbage. He’s going to have to earn back my trust. Until then, he’s on the list.

The American people who voted for him will live to regret it.

I'll be more than happy to remind them of their vote every chance I get.

I agree. Doesn’t mean that Republicans should stop doing what is best for the country. When the Democrats are right (surely it will happen at least once) congressional Republicans should work with them though.

Yeah, and how did that turn out for Poland, et al?

Post war Poland was not our concern when we were allied with Stalin. Our mistake was what we allowed him to do after his usefulness was over. These are mistakes we should not allow with the Democrats. When their usefulness is over they revert to enemy status. Such are alliances of convenience.
