Gay Marriage Supporters March in SF
NBC11 ^ | Fri, Nov 7, 2008 | John Boitnott

Gay marriage supporters launched a rally and march in San Francisco Friday night that caused traffic problems similar to those that plagued Los Angeles earlier in the week when opponents of Proposition 8 marched.

The gay marriage ban triumphed at the polls in a 53 to 47 percent result.

The organizers of the march have said they place partial blame for the success of the measure on the Mormon church, which spent no official church money, but encouraged its members to fight against gay marriage openly on a regular basis.

March organizers said that participants were not affiliated with any agency, pro-human rights or otherwise. They said that a group of concerned citizens had organized the protest.

Organizers said they had informed the San Francisco Police Department that the march would take place.

The march started at about 5:30 p.m. on Friday. Helicopter images showed several hundred people moving up Market street toward the Castro.

The route was expected to take the marchers from Market and 7th streets, up Market and all the way to Dolores Park.

Organizers said they had been posting and passing out flyers around the city. Hundreds of people said they were interested in participating.

Supervisor Bevan Dufty said he had coordinated with police, fire and MUNI to make sure the event was a safe, controlled one.

Was the lavender mafia wearing brown shirts when they demanded people of faith be silent while their religious views are trampled?

That’s an amazing stat isn’t it? 3 million Obama voters also are against homosexual marriage. And they were willing to “enshrine discrimination” in the constitution.

Obama is on record as favoring repeal of the Defense of Marriage Act, which is the federal law which defines marriage. If that act were repealed, then presumeably the federal government would have NO definition of marriage. Which opens the door, as Gavin Newsom would say, to a court then defining marriage for us.

I wonder how much political capital Obama will risk on gay marriage and gay issues in general. I hear that the gays in the military policy will be reviewed and maybe changed. Maybe Obama will be just like Bill Clinton. Remember Clinton was ready on day one and started his term with the gays in the military controversy.

That we’re here we’re queer chant has been around for years. They have no new original thoughts, apparently.

They make the intellectual mistake of thinking that because some people prefer a traditional definition of marriage, that one hates homosexuals and want them to disappear, or go back in the closet. Their reasoning ability on the issues is suspect, because one doesn’t follow from the other.

Just because anybody who hates homosexuality or homosexuals will oppose gay marriage, doesn’t mean that all who oppose gay marriage also hate homosexuals. This is such simplistic reasoning on their part that you have to question their reasoning ability.

or, put another way, gays are a small fringe group, who still have to live in straight society, regardless of how these gay legal issues get resolved.

I reviewed the exams for his Constitutional law class at the New York Times (they are located here), and I think it's clear that the Kenyan Clown is obsessed with the issue.

I expect a couple of resignations from the SCOTUS in about 80 days anyway. Having said that, something tells me the agenda of homosexuals will have to be advanced under this president - somehow, some way. He’ll need their votes and their money for his second term election.

So? They're the "useful idiots" of the homos. Or maybe "co-conspirators" is more accurate, or "enablers".

Either way, they're the enemy just as much as the homos themselves.

Scouts Out! Cavalry Ho!

We don’t march and threaten Catholics and Mormons. We can boycott the corporations funding the repeal of Prop 8.

Boycotts can work for our side too.

There are many corporations funding the repeal of Prop 8.

This link takes us right to the corporate sponsor page to repel Prop 8:
