McClintock: Lead Grows to 827 Votes
McClintock for Congress ^ | November 8, 2008 | McClintock for Congress

Here’s the latest on the vote count. Today our lead increased slightly to 827 votes out of 312,693 cast. Our best estimate is that there are just under 55,000 votes remaining to be counted. We currently have 50.13 percent of the vote; we will need 49.25 percent of the remaining ballots to win the election. The good news is that a precinct-by-precinct analysis of the remaining ballots leads us to believe that the overwhelming majority is from Republican strongholds, but as they say, “It ain’t over till it’s over.”

I read this earlier too, and couldn’t believe his lead increased. Tom’s a good man, it’s a good thing for us Californians that he decided to stay in politics.

we must clean up our elections.....not only have some kind of fraud preventing id’s but also perhaps demand to have all mail in votes post marked two days before the election......this counting ballots nearly a week later is ridiculous....

Voting is completely out of control now and I don’t know if we can ever get a handle on it again.

According to the eMail I received from him at 2:12 this morning he is up to 889 but he is worried about votes from Nevada county however there are 2 more conservative counties that should offset those votes...

It’s looking good, I don’t think there’s anything to worry about.

But it can't solve the problem of Democrat operatives in the back room with access to the machines running off as many ballots for their guy as they like.

Here's Tom's latest email from this morning (11/9/2008):

Our lead has again increased slightly today to 889 votes out of 313,609 now counted, giving us a margin of 28/100ths of one percent. There are now an estimated 57,000 votes yet to be processed. We are currently receiving 50.14 percent of the votes counted and need 49.22 percent of the remaining vote. In short, this is still too close to call, but I'd rather be me than the other guy.

The only wrinkle in the count is that we still could lose as many as 1,500 votes out of Nevada County, but we are confident that this will be more than made up from the larger counties that I carried. If Nevada's numbers are reported first next week, don't be surprised if we temporarily slip into negative territory until the much larger counties of El Dorado and Placer report.

My sincere thanks to all of you who have contributed to help us maintain a legal presence as the ballots are being processed, and to all of you who volunteered their time to help as election observers. Our costs alone are more than $5,000 per day so your help is absolutely vital. Contributions can be made over our web site at www.helptom.com. And if you could volunteer a few hours to assist us as an election observer, please call our Roseville headquarters at 916-783-4411.

Your support and your prayers mean everything. THANK YOU.

Sincerely,
Tom McClintock

There are still a lot of ballots out in El Dorado and Placer County which should break Tom’s way.
