They’ve just been biding [Biden?] their time until we were stupid enough to elect a weak, appeasing, pacifistic sock puppet.

Welcome to Obamgeddon.

Can I ask your age? I fought in the Cold War, as did my father after he served in two hot wars (WWII and Korea). Do you think that just because the name has been changed to “Russia” from the “Soviet Union” that everyone in the country was somehow transformed and their minds were changed? The DPRK (north Korea), Cuba and China are still communist, and Venezuela is as close as one can be without coming out of the closet. Unless the new president completely emasculates our military, we'll be fine. The Russians and Chinese know better than to pluck the eagle's feathers, and no one else would dare. When I left the service in 1983 we had weapons that are still not talked about that keep the wolves from the door, and I daresay we've developed many more since then.

Well, ‘ol Dick Morris was saying a couple days ago that he thinks Israel will hit Iran’s nuke facilities in a few months, starting a new Mideast War. Life could get very interesting...

Remember what happened under Jimmy Carter’s Presidential rein.
Soviet Union invaded Afghanistan, Shah of Iran was toppled and they stormed our Embassy took our Americans hostage and Sadat was assassinated. Oh yea, double digit inflation and interest. Gasoline shortages!

...in five years? One year after Bambi is out of office, I hope. Have Palin pick a ‘bright and respectable’ US Senator or House Representative from the Foreign Relations Committe who has national exposure and credentials.

In 2012, Palin will have a much broader and deeper knowledge of “world affairs”.

Putin is crazy.

Is 'nor have we' the question or Russia seems not to have shaken it's cold war attitudes?

How is it that these people always seem to be given the thumbs up and a whole recent history of death and destruction is ignored? The only thing about the COLD WAR that 'changed' was the Clintons set in motion to spend what was called the 'Peace Dividend', stripping DOWN our military capabilities.

Russia has spent every day since trying to build back their military hook or crook.... remember 'oil for rotten food' and how many billions they paid Saddam for oil contracts....

They are just waiting for Geo W to leave office.

BHO is going to be more than tested by countries that are anti-American.

peace through strength, war through weakness. That’s how the world works.

al qaeda saw Americans as weak after 8 years of clinton. Then came Bush. He appeared dumb and incompetent and remember his response during 9/11 with the kids? Bush had to fight 2 wars to make up for his weakness.

Everytime the bear is on life support, the USA has bailed them out with foreign aid. They always come back with the same belligerent attitude.

The Russians are not to be trusted EVER. They will always use some perceived edge in power to their gain. They also have a mental defect similar to liberalism that makes them feel entitled. The stupidest things the W administration did was let them gain economic power. W believes a strong Russia is in our interest. Nothing could bee further from the truth.

It would seem that even with the FR servers being down for a day, that we haven't shaken the ever persistent trolls.

Any troll with a screen name like 'hippydippy' could suck a golf ball through a garden hose.

Russia won’t have to go to war with us. Their plan with BO is to re-form the Soviet Union. BO will oblige when they ask us to join it.

We had an opportunity to have a good long term relationship with Russia after the breakup of the Soviet Union and WE blew it! 70 years of dealing with the Russians and the “Russian Experts” (Idiots)in our government still don’t have a clue about dealing with the Russians. Above everything else they are PARANOID...they have a system of disbelief about EVERYTHING. Regardless of our intentions...until WE prove them wrong by OUR actions they will always believe we are out to get them. Our stupidity in dealing with them is the problem..and as far as I am concerned it all goes back to the statement President Eisenhower made.. “beware the military-industrial complex”. They want to restart the cold war..they made billions on it and are crying in their beer that it is(was) over!

Russia is a dying country and Putin is delusional

Countries fall from within( as we are in the process of doing )
and Russia is a walking corpse whose male average age span is now 59 and a country where the population is declining
Oil revenues are falling and the economic disaster that is going to hit us will hit them also

China will probably gobble up Russia’s Far East areas in the future

Impossible. We now have a pansy in an empty suit in the “Office of the President-Elect.” There can be no war, only surrender.
