Veteran reporter and talk radio host Andrea Shea King reported this weekend at her blog, The Radio Patriot that a close friend of the Reagan family has contradicted the claim by the Obama administration-in-waiting that President-elect Obama had a "warm conversation" with former First Lady Nancy Reagan when he called her to apologize for insulting her at a press conference Friday afternoon.
Responding to a question by Lynn Sweet of the Chicago Sun-Times about whether he had consulted with "any living ex-presidents", Obama replied:
"In terms of speaking to former presidents, I've spoken to all of them that are living. Obviously, President Clinton — I didn't want to get into a Nancy Reagan thing about, you know, doing any seances.
"I have reread some of Lincoln's writings, who's always an extraordinary inspiration.
"And, by the way, President Carter, President Bush, Sr., as well as the current president have all been very gracious and offered to provide any help that they can in this transition process."
Obama spokeswoman Stephanie Cutter issued a statement several hours after the press conference about Obama's call to Mrs. Reagan:
"President-elect Barack Obama called Nancy Reagan today to apologize for the careless and off-handed remark he made during today’s press conference. The president-elect expressed his admiration and affection for Mrs. Reagan that so many Americans share and they had a warm conversation."
Yesterday, a Reagan insider gave a differing account of the phone call:
"Nancy is at home, comfortable, giving her pelvic bone a chance to heal from what was in fact a minor break. I know that he called Nancy to apologize and she was not warm to him."
The Reagan insider also expressed their own opinion on Obama's remarks:
"I was not thrilled by President-Elect Obama's gaffe in his press conference when he said that he had consulted all the living presidents but couldn't talk to Ronald Reagan because he wasn't going to do a Nancy Reagan thing and have a seance. His wide grin after saying that, like "Am I clever, or what?" was, in my opinion, a very poor example of what he'll be like when he is on his own, without a script and a teleprompter, speaking with the tough leaders of Russia, Iran and North Korea."
King said in her report the Reagan insider wishes to remain anonymous.
Obama's remark was not only insulting, it was factually inaccurate, as ABC News' Jake Tapper reported Friday:
Incidentally, Nancy Reagan never held a séance at the White House, though she was reported to have consulted with an astrologer when planning her husband's schedules. It was Mary Todd Lincoln who regularly held séances.
When she was first lady, Sen. Hillary Clinton, D-N.Y., worked with spiritual adviser Jean Houston to access an "Eleanor Roosevelt-like consciousness" from within her own psyche. Clinton wrote in a column that Roosevelt "usually responds by telling me to buck up, or at least to grow skin as thick as a rhinoceros."

That entire press conference, from when it was SUPPOSED to start, until its abrupt end, was an unmitigated disaster. Of course, none of his msm buddies have even come close to characterizing it that way. Our nation is in trouble.
All of it, in my opinion, was manufactured by “O” from the “insult” itself to the “apology call”. Manipulation of the media and the call itself was an insult. Nancy probably didn’t even know about Mr. Big Shot’s supposed “accidental insult” in the first place - much less cared. - How did he have her private phone number anyway?
I seemed to recall they were in the Lincoln White House, but had forgotten even this much.
No, he did not. The grandmother who raised him after his deadbeat father and atheist, leftist mother abandoned him.

It doesn’t matter whether we know Nancy’s reaction to the call at all, through a named source or an anonymous source.
We know O made the call. I STILL hope Nancy gave him hell!
Why is it a surprise to anyone? The man has no class and he’s showing it right out of the box. Wonder how the liberal’s claim of a kumbaya, the world will love us again is going to work out when put to the test. It won’t be long before Obama will resort to that fake “bullsh*t” cough thing when speaking to world leaders that don’t agree with him.

I'm sorry to come out blasting, and please don't think it's directed at you personally, but Barack Obama is not the President-elect, and cannot be the President-elect until the electoral college meets and casts their electoral votes. That's why that ridiculous sign on that podium is so stupidly pretentious, and to misuse the seal of the office of President in such a manner ... not the first time he's done it, either.
It just reeks of banana republic, that sign may as well read "Council Of the World Plenipotentiary In Expectancy," (COWPIE), for all the weight it actually represents.
Why this strange fixation upon Presidential "bling" anyway? Who does he have to convince? Is there some sort of fear there? Is there a legitimate challenge to his election forthcoming?
The broader question is where did Obama come up with that tid-bit of false knowledge? Huffington post, DU, Moveon that is the place you see that kind of hate filled talk regarding the widow of a Conservative ICON.
Obama fully intends to destroy Conservatism in America.
What kind of a creep makes a joke at the expense of a frail, elderly widow?
Maybe BO the schemer was subconsciously taking a swipe at Hillary. Nah, he's not that clever. He was just being the classless oaf that he really is.
This is only the beginning. The MSM won’t be able to cover up for these jokers. The media love fest is over. No, we can’t just get along while our rights are usurpted and our freedoms taken. Pathetically, Pelosi and Reid and the MSM misread the popular vote and think the American people agree with their plans for a dictatorship in America. Illegal campaign contributions and voter fraud put these traitors in office. They can’t cover up the fact that Americans didn’t sign on to a Gestapo-style government. When sold a pack of lies, buyers remorse will set in very quickly. Anyone up for re-election in two years is out, IMO.
Barack Obama didn’t call nancy. His alter ego, The One, made the call. No doubt he was scratching his cheek with his middle finger during the entire conversation.
I think it is interesting that Nancy’s son supported 0bama. I wonder what the little dancer thinks of zero now after he insulted his mom?
