A few weeks ago, as I was walking across the campus of UNC-Wilmington, I heard an old familiar sound. A rap song was blaring from the general vicinity of the university amphitheater. I heard the n-word broadcast loudly (from over 100 yards away) so I decided to walk over to investigate the source of the racial epithet.
“The President is Black, Hide the Confederate Flag”
No.
I’m thinking of getting one and flying it just to irk a few folks.
Get it while you still can.
I’m going to be plastering the back of my Yukon with them in place of the McCain stickers as soon as I head down Rt. 522 to a certain little VA tourist trap.
They have a great selection.
I should note that I’ve been flying one since Martin O’Malley turned our governor’s mansion into occupied territory.
I always fly the Stars & Bars during February.
(black history month)
The President-elect is African; the Confederate flag has no personal associations for him.
That said, the title is only vaguely relevant to the article. I doubt Dr. Adams chose it.
Gee, Mike, I realize they are college people and all but...might they not just do the little math and decide not to send a receipt, or even not cash a two-cent check?
Long-term solution in tagline...
I wear a Confederate Battle Flag patch on the front of a few of my hats. I have the same patch on the right shoulder of one of my field jackets. I have a 3’ x 5’ flag on a staff that I trot out on Robert E. Lee’s birthday and Stonewall Jackson’s birthday (actually, I just keep it up for both because they are only days apart; coincidentally, so is MLK day, which makes for some raised eyebrows; and, I live in Illinois!). I am proud of my Southern heritage. My ancestors fought for the Confederacy. They never owned slaves, but were hard-working tradesmen who toiled to raise their families (one of my great-great grandfathers was a blackmsith and drayman, the other was a carpenter). They fought for their families and their homes. Folks seem to forget that it was the Yankees who invaded ther Confederacy, not th eother way around. The Confederacy just wanted to be left alone to go its own way, but the Yankees, like today’s liberals, felt such an idea repugnant.
DEO VINDICE!
The hheadline makes no sense. Anyone who doesn't think that the University wouldn't have had the same reaction if McCain was elected is an utter fool.
I-57 runs south as well as north you know.
I agree!
Sounds like a good way to show your support.
I dont know what’s better; the flag, pimpin’ fo Obama, or the craptastic Camaro in the driveway.
Mississippi and Haley Barbour will go to WAR if he messes with our flag... bank on it!
