A Senior Fellow at the Institute of Nonexistence [Martin Eisenstadt hoax]
New York Times ^ | 11/13/2008 | Richard Perez-Pena

It was among the juicier post-election recriminations: Fox News Channel quoted an unnamed McCain campaign figure as saying that Sarah Palin did not know that Africa was a continent.

Who would say such a thing? On Monday the answer popped up on a blog and popped out of the mouth of David Shuster, an MSNBC anchor. “Turns out it was Martin Eisenstadt, a McCain policy adviser, who has come forward today to identify himself as the source of the leaks,” Mr. Shuster said.

Trouble is, Martin Eisenstadt doesn’t exist.

"Trouble is, Martin Eisenstadt doesn’t exist"

Trouble is, David Shuster is vicious, stupid, and dishonest.

Did Carl Cameron ever apologize for spewing this nonsense all over Fox news?

***For what it’s worth, another reporter for The New York Times is an acquaintance of Mr. Gorlin and vouches for his identity, and Mr. Gorlin is indeed “Mr. Eisenstadt” in those videos.***

Well good. Now the NY Times is complicit in perpetrating a fraud. Time for charges.

"Mr. Gorlin, 39, argued that Eisenstadt was no more of a joke than half the bloggers or political commentators on the Internet or television."

..... and he's no more of a fraudulent joke than a majority of so-called "journalists" in this country.....

I look forward to seeing the apology on the front page of the New York Times.

(Right, I know, heh. And in any case I don't pick up the thing anyway. Puppies, parrots, and fish deserve better.)

So let me get this straight. This dork isn’t even a real person much less connected to the campaign. Am I somehow expected to take Queer Carl seriously ever again?

I am not a professional "journalist", But when I first heard the claim about Palin...with no other context, I immediately recognized it was ludicrous, and was either completely made up, or there was a misunderstanding or misrepresentation.

How could a professional news man like Cameron not know it was bunk?

Answer:

Liberalism is not a philosophy...it is a mental disorder.

Seems like many of the so-called conservative bloggers and journalists fell for this, too. This duo did a good job on doing-in the Republican party.

They did much more than that. I just checked out the you-tube videos this guy has out. He made it easy for them to figure out that he was a fraud. All they had to do is do just a little checking. The fact is they didn't want to check him out. They wanted to run another hate story on Palin. He humiliated every news organization that ran one of his stories.
