It’s good the Governors are taking the lead, but Charlie Crist bears watching. He’s the only active politician to suggest he’s “open” to the idea of slavery reparations. Total non-starter, that.

I figure you are both referring to Rep. Duncan Lee Hunter of District 52 in CA and my first choice for president.

He elected NOT to run for his House seat again in 2008 and his son Duncan Duane Hunter ran for that seat and won it overwhelmingly TG.

Duncan L. Hunter would have been wonderful as Leader and maybe someday his son will be too, but as an incoming freshman representative he wouldn't have a chance at becoming leader. Sigh. OTOH he IS in place for the future.

Boehner needs to be dumped. As he's the head coach of the House GOP, it will continue to shrink.

Easiest tactic is to not send the fools any money. Money always talks. Without a complete flushing of the GOP toilet it will continue to be a wing of the demrat party.

I fully agree.

In early july it was apparent to even a casual observer of politics that the Dems had a united national campaign to capture the white house and increase their hold on both houses of congress. Boehner was asked if they'd consider another Contract with America. it was a cornerstone of our takeover of the house on '94, and Boehner helped create and implement it. Anyhow, Boehner's reply was "no, we're not going to create a new contract' and worse, instead of having a national campaign during a Presidential election cycle, he said Congressmen and Senators would have to fend for themselves. IIRC, the exact phrase was "every man for himself."

A decentralized campaign wiothou tnational support vs a Nationally coordinated campaign from top down to bottom. DUH!!!

He should be OUT of the leadeship.

Do you have a source for Boner’s “every man for himself” quote?
This quote should be very useful for the campaign to oust him as minority leader.

my quote was incorrect, mea culpa, but that is the gist of it. http://www.nysun.com/national/house-gop-leader-eschews-contract-with-america/82397/ 4th graf...

"He said Republican candidates could choose from a menu of policy proposals offered by the national party, including plans for energy independence, health care, national security, and crime reduction. 'But at the end of the day,' he said, 'people will have to run their own elections.'"

Isn’t Cantor, who I previously liked, the one who argued for the nationalization of the finacial sector.

Three necessary conditions for conservatives to regain control of the GOP and eliminate the destructive RINO domination.
1. GOP registration required to vote for GOP candidates so that crossover voters do not select our candidates in the primaries.
2. Move primaries up in several large conservative states so that RINO-infested northeastern states no longer choose our presidential candidate.
3. Allot delegates to the GOP convention from each state based on the number of registered GOP voters in that state and divide the delegates between candidates based on primary results in each state- No more winner-take-all primaries.

People like me have done more than our part and got the short end of the stick. For all the RNC people reading this...

You want my support? Show me you’re worth it. Have Bush shove some VERY conservative issue executive orders through. How about a General Amnesty for the NFA? Do that and my faith in the GOP would be restored... otherwise, I have no reason to support the party that abandoned me.

Mike

A possible way to get the message to the RNC:

The email address for the “donations” department is

Finance@gop.com

Lets all send them a note to the effect that any future contributions are absolutely dependent on a clear and officially stated position that the RNC is abandoning the goal of tricking democrats into voting republican rather than converting democrats to republicans!

I am going to do so, and if they do get the message, will actually substantially support future efforts. If they don’t, I won’t. I will not throw hard earned money down a rat hole, including a semi-rat hole!

GOP Begins Plotting Comeback

I don't want to beat a dead horse but all the talk of liberal bias in the press is just excused as, "they (reporters) naturally think that way, it's not intentional."

Then I see this headline. Think about the connotation and use of the word plotting. This is a classic example of the bias as it exists. Sinister, sneaky, nefarious people (republicans) plot. Good natured, messianic, earth-loving people (democrats) plan or strategize.
