After Taking Some Shots, She Fires Back
Washington Post ^ | November 13, 2008 | Howard Kurtz

Sarah Palin is fighting back against the "jerks."

Cooking moose chili and slicing sandwiches for Matt Lauer and Greta Van Susteren, chatting up Larry King and Wolf Blitzer, the Alaska governor is denying, deflecting and denouncing the worst her unnamed critics have thrown at her. She has called them "cruel," "mean-spirited" and "immature," renounced her designer wardrobe and insisted that she is not geographically challenged.

Again. And again. And again.

"She wants to rehabilitate her image and get everyone to love her again," says Larry Persily, a former Palin aide. "If I were advising her, say it once and then stop. You protest too much. You start to look a little foolish."

But Dan Schnur, who runs the University of Southern California's Institute of Politics, says the challenge is simple: "Feed the media beast or it's going to feed on you."

...”They’re terrified of her, and the attacks won’t stop. They don’t dare let up. What happens if she unifies the country against Hussein et. al? (Which will come about as soon as the great one starts pushing his agenda.)”...

Most of all, they hate that she values LIFE..They want to cheapen life so that those who are inconvenient for any reason..FOR ANY REASON..can be eliminated. Abortion is only a start..They cannot abide any ideas which compete with theirs. That is what political correctness is all about and when someone like Sarah is out there, they must intimidate her into oblivion and if she will not go there, then, they will try to destroy her influence through any means whatsoever. I saw the Greta specials with Sarah and her family..It was heart warming to watch real people in real lives doing real things..My desire for this Holiday Season would be a Palin Family Christmas Special, perhaps along with the Osmonds. That would be a real ratings zinger! I can see Baby Trig in his little Santa hat right now!

Yes, I know that, but in this particular instance, I think Politico and the other lib media sources were used as razor sharp weapons by the McCain/Bush/Romney clique on the Straight Talk Express to hurt Governor Palin once it realized that she was going to completely overshadow McCain and force him to veer right when he wanted to go left. In short, they had a togress by the tail, and needed to defang her, but not do so in way that would immediately fall back on McCain.

You need to think outside the box about this kind of stuff and understand how these political in-fighters operate, using outlets like Politico to give themselves plausible deniability when doing their dirty work.

"togress" = "tigress"

Doh! Writing in the dark this morning, while wife sleeps.

It’s been more than a week since the election, and WHO IS EVERYBODY STILL TALKING ABOUT?

Who is it that everyone wants to interview and have on her show?

Now, we all need to donate to Our Country Deserves Better to help with their post election ad campaign for Sarah.

There are two types watching. Those who adore her. And those waiting to be there for a gaffe.

If they are terrified, then why headline her? Remember, the networks own the microphones, not Governor Palin.

They are simply getting as much mileage as they can with her.

Palin is the ONLY reason PERIOD! I still have not received a word back from my request for a refund from juan’s campaign... he does not deserve the large amount that I sent to them... and Palin was the ONLY reason that I donated.

Amazing, isn’t it? Ironic, it is not. I have no respect for the majority of the media. Greta’s interview was the FIRST post election and there are claims that she (Sarah) is complaining too much?. And if I was Governor Palin, I would tell Oprah, the View and those kind of folks to go *&&^@ in their hat.

Governor Palin insists McCain is the best leader we have in the nation right now.

How could this wise governor be wrong?

Don't worry... biden’s future gaffs will help to lower the new coven's approval ratings into the single digits.

Read between her lines...she’s appearing to be gracious without really being gracious for all the backstabbing that went on. It’s how she sticks the knife into her political enemies and the people who offend her.

Perhaps you have forgotten that it was Politico that caused the uproar as to how many houses McCain owned.

I maintain my opinion that Politico is wholly owned by BO and they do not want to see Sarah Palin as their opponent in 2012 or out there campaigning for republicans in 2010.

Well, it was either Schmitt or Davis, or even McCain himself

Or "Politico's Allen" regurgitated an unsourced, anonymous, BS, quote.

This may seem a small thing but it impressed me. Sarah carried on very articulate interviews with Greta and with Lauer, no uhs or ahs, complete grammatical sentences which made sense and were responsive. And all the time, she was preparing lunch, mixing baby formula, soothing Piper - all nonstop, multitasking at its best.

I have never wavered in my admiration for Sarah Palin, and I have a mental lizard-list. On it are all the liberal jerks and rino fools who have attached her. She is now a national presence, and she is not going to go away.

Ok, help me parse this.

" I honor him. I love him. I believe that he is the best leader that we have in the nation right now, still, is John McCain. And I would have liked to have had more opportunity to be out there speaking on his behalf, of the attributes that -- that he has, because he's so humble he doesn't do that himself.

If this is really sticking a knife into a political enemy, I'm sure Pelosi and Reid will be lining up to be stuck.

I agree with what you wrote.

But you seem to be implying that some other approach, any other approach, would be relatively easy and would work infinitely well.

That’s where we part company.

Oh, yes, sir, just say it once and then let the media control the story, ALWAYS works!

Precisely.

Look how the media ruined “W” by saying it just once. They have been at him daily for 8 years.

It’s how she sticks the knife into her political enemies and the people who offend her.

Try this explanation:

She knows it wasn't McCain or any other Republicans behind the attacks.

It is and was Obama operative all along.
