Why Jamie Gorelick Won’t Get To Be AG
cashill.com ^ | 11/13/2008 | Jack Cashill

This week in its series, “The New Team,” The New York Times profiles Jamie Gorelick, (pronounced Guh-REH-lick), very possibly America’s next attorney general.

In the way of “baggage,” reporter Eric Lichtblau cites her past employment as vice chairwoman at Fannie Mae and her role in creating the famed intelligence “wall” while deputy attorney general under Clinton.

Lichtblau may not be aware, however, of her most significant contribution to American security, or lack of the same, the one that put her in position to earn what the Times reports as “$25.6 million in salary and other compensation from 1998 to 2003” at Fannie Mae.

Nor does Lichtblau suggest that something other than patriotism may well have inspired her to leave her lucrative post at Fannie Mae to sign on as one of only five Democrats on the 9/11 commission.

In the way of background, Gorelick assumed the deputy AG position in 1994 a month after Clinton crony Webster Hubbell resigned from the Justice Department in disgrace.

Like Hubbell, Gorelick served as the “political officer” in the 100-thousand employee department, the eyes and ears of the administration, the one who could be trusted. Her boss, Janet Reno, an unreliable figurehead, could not.

An article in the June 3, 1996, Newsweek, described, for instance, how Gorelick had set up a “campaign-like war room” in her office because “in a campaign year, Justice can't afford to be totally blind.”

Six weeks later, on July 17, 1996 –two days before the start of the Atlanta Olympics –TWA Flight 800 blew up off the south coast of Long Island, killing all 230 people on board.

Gore Lick should be in jail or at least publicaly shunned. How she can walk around DC and be taken seriously is beyond me.

And here, after reading the title, I expected to see the words “incompetent, “corrupt” or at least “cretin” in this article!

Cashill is the man. BUMP!

OF COURSE, Gorelick could never hold any named position in the 0bama administration - - even a steaming pantload like 0bama knows a losing political proposition when it kicks him in the Biden, and he certainly knows that Gorelick has the blood of at least three-thousand Americans on her hands - - but that won’t stop her from being given some role or another.

Then again, it all depends on Republican Senators having the spine to call her out should she actually get nominated for something and appear at hearings. And depending on Republicans to have any guts these days seems to be a losing proposition of its own.

If Gorelick helped keep a terrorist incident in 1996 from causing Clinton any political harm, all the more reason Obama would want her in the AG job, to limit the fallout from any incidents that may occur after he releases the terrorists at Gitmo and dismantles as much as possible of the Bush administration’s terrorism-fighting techniques. The Democrats don’t really believe in the War on Terror—they think it’s just a con game by the Bush administration to accumulate power.

I agree. It seems that Jamie Gorelick reached the top rung of the Peter Principle back in the early 1990’s, but miraculously, she keeps getting higher pay and more responsibility as time goes on. It’s hard to see how one person could do so much damage to so many people. Her rise reveals just how insular and corrupt Washington D.C. and the network of Clinton cronies is. In my opinion, the most damaging legacy of the Clinton Administration is the third rate people that he employed. In 2008 we have the spectacle of watching Stephanapoulis interviewing Emmanuel, discussing consideration of Gorelick and Hillary Clinton appointments. None of these people should be anywhere near positions of power as they’ve displayed highly flawed judgement at best and a high degree of malice.

The term is "Political Commissar".

I have had a feeling all along that Obama’s AG will be our Democrat Governor from Arizona... Janet Napalitano... I Really don’t want that for our country, but even I would say she would have to be a better choice than Gorelick and if it happens the positive for Arizona would be that she is gone and we get the Republican Secretary of State Jan Brewer to replace her.

It doesn’t matter what she did in the past; if the Messiah wants her to be AG, she will be AG. How dare you question anything the Messiah wants? The media and the majority of the voting public are in a stupor of “Obama can do nothing wrong in our eyes”. They are in a crazed hypnotized obedience to this man, and if he says Gorelick will be the next AG, she will be.

She also had a hand in a quick decision on the Oklahoma City Bombing. IT is all in Jayna Davis’s book, The Third Terrorist.

I wanted to see it because we would get rid of her and next in line is a Republican so AZ would once again have a GOP Governor.

NO FAIR - I want the Messiah to choose my Governatrix, Jennifer Granholm - she has presided over one of the strongest single-State recession while all the other States were doing fine - please, Obama, take her.......
