My question is: does this statement indicate the direction that the GOP will be taking? This sounds like the first part of a new GOP mission statement, removing a lot of RINO crap. At least that’s the impression that I get. If so, let’s back them up. The worst we can do is start in fighting because we don’t agree 100% with the GOP. The alternative is rat rule, and I’m sure no one here wants it.

As a Texan, I detest Rick Perry. He is a spender, a taxer, and a liar. He does, however, have good hair.

Whoa Cowboy, hold yer horses there for a minute. I dont particularly care how you feel about the Governor of Texas, but I and my wife personally petitioned the Naval Hospital, Camp Lejeune to make available (already had in stock) to those so inclined, the miracle of Gardasil. My daughter (15 at the time) had all three shots and Im happy to report no adverse effects three years later. Dont let paranoia get the best of ya my friend!
No disrespect intended.

Thank you for your kind deferral sir. May I point out that the difference between your decision in *choosing* to inoculate vs. a government *mandated* injection is about as far apart as Dallas is from Proxima Centauri in terms of philosophical validity?
Back to you.

Two things and you all are up in arms at him? Try living in a total Red State with a Democrat Governor and Attorney General like in Oklahoma — we would love to have a Rick Perry. Trust me it changes your perspective.
I lived in TX when Ma Richards was the Governor — give me Rick Perry any day.

Oh please. Oklahoma has the Oklahoma Turnpike between Joplin, MO, and Lawton, OK. I love driving the turnpike. I have my Pike Pass and go up and down the turnpike and once a month they deposit more money from my account if needed. It is a well kept road compared to I-40 which is horrible.
Our speed limit is 75 with few interchanges — I would love to have I-40 in that great of shape even if I had to pay. They just extended the Turnpike based on the money they collected at no cost to anyone except the people that drive the Turnpike.

Texas is a great state that hopefully won’t be ruined by any migration from the north and west by brain-dead liberals.

I must beg to differ sir. I suggest you read my post again, and do not forcibly inject implied condemnation where there is none. I do not nor cannot believe that vaccines, or guns, or any inanimate objects can possess intent or moral content. It is how the thing is used, by whom, and in what manner that determines whether they are "good" or "evil". Forcing anyone to be medicated by the state is something the Nazis did quite well, and it is only because of their broad moral failings that the issue is so well illuminated in their example.
No state shall medicate by dictate.
Isn't that catchy? Just came up with it myself.
That being said, God Bless Texas indeed!

He hasn’t done anything about stopping illegals from paying in-state tuition and getting state aid for college. That is not a conservative to me.

“If hes against amnesty and for the fence then he really has my support.”
That is when he is talking to a Texas audience, remember his speech in Mexico, he was talking like they were all welcome to come here.
