Any home is a great loss.
Maybe Opfra had the good sense to put some bucks (not those kind)into clearing her land and underbrushing for miles around.
well instead of empathy for the people around her who lost their homes, she celebrated hers not being burned.

Come sunrise all that smokeycrud is going to hit folks in the lower bowels of LA hard...
Time to take heed to the WARNINGS...down in the basin there is no air flow IIRC and the soot from all the fire/burnt homamge interiors is going to be very toxic.

I was a young child in 1960. I remember moving into our new home here in L.A. that year. The hills above us were on fire we lived less than one block away from them in Burbank. I thought we were going to burn to death and die. I had nightmares. It was scary. Something my sister and myself never forgot.
I was crapping my diapers in Iowa in 1960. Muscatine to be exact.
I dont watch O or let my ears listen to her when on the news other than she is a Chicago buddy of Barry O.
I will take your word that she Celebrated he McMansion being saved and having no empathy for her neighbors.
Perhaps her $$$ has her mind in a place she cannot feel for others.
As I well know it is not a far fall from her beginnings in life to her living too high.
But still would not wish harm on her or her property.
Let us wait and hope she turns right and helps those who lost so much. Never give up.

Being a heat intolerant human (for real health reasons) I cannot bare to think of what 80 degree weather plus burning fires would do to those who are infirmed or otherwise.

The Santa Anas (Desert Winds) are a dry wind. Caused by High pressure sitting over Nevada and California Deserts. Has not been excessively warm. Actually very nice if you are not near a fire. Was much hotter earlier in the year when we had some humid weather come up from the south. 80-90 with humidity is difficult. 80-90 with low humidity is nice.

The video was on Ch 9 earlier. It showed the fire making some huge runs in Carbon Canyon and it walling up with FFs right in front of it. Fires at night look twice as ominous to me.
They closed the 91 again. Apparently the old burn areas are lighting up in areas that did not burn before. So the earlier wind driven fire appears to be turning into a brush driven fire now.
My sympathies to the good folks who are suffering. I hope you all are OK.
KNX on the radio at 1070, just announced that there has been one arrest for arson, a 39 year old man, named Sirhan
the last name was foreign and I haven’t a clue to what I heard it said as.
He is being held on a $75,000. bail.
Prayers for all involved.
