Years, decades and -- God-willing -- centuries hence, students of American history will look back to the years 2001-2009 and wonder just why was so much vituperation, insult, and venom trained upon George W. Bush. Prologues of biographies and books about the 43rd president's life and administration will feature quotes from writers, pundits and political hacks, senators, congressmen, and candidates declaring the mendacity, malice and criminality of President Bush, a tyrant unlike any other. Such statements, however, will be presented as mockery. As it is with many biographies of Abraham Lincoln, they will be presented as their own words laughing back at them.
Denunciation of President Bush has emanated from seemingly all corners of the world. Few individuals or groups have matched the slurs, lies, and outright hatred that have come from officials of the United Methodist Church (UMC), which incidentally happens to be the church of George W. You sound like you are in the same boat with me, though I must say, the UMC church here in South Georgia doesn’t seem to be quite on the same page as the uppity-ups.
Fortunately, the current crowd will be retiring soon. We can only hope for more intelligent leadership above.

As to their position on abortion, the Methodist Church is the largest mainline denomination that supports abortion, it is stated in their book of discipline. That document is full of positions that I am sure would prompt you to reconsider your house of worship, or at the very least what you are funding with your tithe/contributions.

One Methodist church in Houston, Bering UMC, signed on to the “Queer Jesus” theology/heresy over a decade ago.
On 9-11, just a few hours after the buildings fell, while the pentagon was still on fire, I had two liberals in two different incidents express that they felt that the U.S. deserved the attacks that had befallen us that day.
Anecdotal yes, but when you add the democrats history of throwing every monkey wrench they can get their hands on into the war on terror, you get a clear view of their intent.
Dems have attempted to bestow full constitutional rights on enemy combatants. They have deliberately alienated allies. they have deliberately manufactured lies in order to aid enemies of the U.S.
It is difficult to come to any other conclusion.

I’ll advise you to read their “book of resolutions”. The church hierarchy writes like they’re quoting from Kos and DU.
The have a problem with Taco Bell and the Mt Olive Pickle Company, I kid you not. I expected the thing to end with “workers of the world, UNITE!” like the communist manifesto.
I’m sure they’ll put out a few “resolutions” that state how great Obama is at their next convention.
