Gay rights boycott urged at rally
The Fresno Bee ^ | November 16, 2008 | Eddie Jimenez

Hundreds of supporters of same-sex marriage gathered at Fresno City Hall on Saturday, vowing not to back down in their fight against Proposition 8 and urging a boycott of businesses that helped fund the initiative. They weren't alone. Coast-to-coast, crowds gathered near public buildings in small communities and major cities including New York, San Francisco, Los Angeles and Chicago to vent their frustrations, celebrate gay relationships and renew calls for change.

In Fresno, protesters turned their attention to what comes next. Matthew Payne of Fresno compared the same-sex marriage ban to former laws against biracial marriages and women's right to vote. He and other speakers vowed not to stop until same-sex marriages are legal again in California.

"We're not going to go back," Payne told the crowd, which a security officer estimated at about 500.

"Matthew Payne of Fresno blalabla...He and other speakers vowed not to stop until same-sex marriages are legal again in California."

Since Obama supporters are the ones responsible for passing the amendment, could Mattie be advocating denying them the right to vote? Shame! Shame!

Gay rights is not a ‘civil rights’ issue.

You can’t change the color of your skin or gender as in the Civil Rights movement of the 1960’s or Women’s Suffrage movement of the early 1900’s.

Homosexuality is a paraphelia defined by behavior. Just as pedophilia or necrophilia or bestiality are abnormal sexual behaviors.

Should necrophilia be given the right to marry a loved ones corpse or a person allowed to marriage a dog? Surely, denying them this ‘right’ is a ‘hate crime’ right? LOL.

Is sex in public restrooms abnormal sexual behavior? Force sex back in the bedroom, and as long as it stays there between consenting adults it isn’t my or your business.

It is enlightening to see so-called civil rights activists stomp all over other's civil rights when they don't get their way. Very neurotic.

Maybe a separate section, out back, where there’s no gays hanging around - no limp wristed males or overly masculine females. Hahaha.

That’s a good point you made. Unfortunately, I live in an area in Hollywood where the Gay Nazis march in lockstep. I don’t fear for my personal well-being but if these homos scratch my Infiniti, I’ll “straighten” them out physically..

they can target me as much as they want here in FL we have castle law and we have concealed permits.

Why on earth do they think we are gullible enough or anything stupid enough to think that their agenda is the same as the black struggle or bi racial marriage.

It way different and we also have a law in the majority of states which state they cannot be married.
They never could and never will.

No rights were taken away so when will they stop acting like spoilt children who are not getting their own way

Here’s one:

http://www.sfgate.com/webdb/prop8/

Just choose the “Supports Prop 8” option and enter the city or zip code, and voilà. Unfortunately there’s no way to filter out individuals’ names, so you may have to do a bit of scrolling in order to find the names of businesses amongst all the names of individual contributors.

Also, if you want to visit the website of the “Human Rights Campaign”, they have a list of a number of businesses which contributed to “Yes on 8.” We could use this list in a “reverse boycott”:

More events are planned. Among them is "A Day Without a Gay," set for Dec. 10. Those who are gay are being asked not to spend money for a day to show the effect they have on the economy.

Hm. Sounds like a good day to go Christmas shopping!

Right on. Let’s begin a boycott of our own. Stop tuning in to Oprah, Ellen De Generate, Stop watching movies with Brad Pitt and his pals, Cancel Bravo and HBO channel if you have it, Drain out the cream in Ben & Jerry’s and we’ll be upto someting. Enough is enough. The homosexuals have become a pest and pesticide is what we need.

I know a few blacks who are very active and vocal and THEY HATE when gays compare the struggles. The main thing they say is you can hide your gayhood going for a job but can’t hide being black. When gays say they can’t be openly gay at work who is openly heterosexual?

so it is not just me that I have heard this from blacks
The blacks I have talked to really do resent how homo’s are using their agenda to their struggle.

The more the homo’s do this eqauting the more resenment they will get from the black community

I have friends who are actually well known in the black community as activists. Some even are conservative and hate that people assume because they’re black they are in love with Obama.

Let them boycott. I doubt it will make a difference because there are not as many as they claim.

Their claimed number in the U.S. is 10% (30 million?) of the population. I would be surprised if it was 1% and is more than likely a fraction of 1%.

You would think they would be happy about Obama winning, but with Prop 8 passed, the euphoria has waned.
