AUSTIN The verdict from Texas scientists is nearly unanimous: 98 percent favor the unadulterated teaching of evolution in public school classrooms, according to a report released Monday as the State Board of Education prepares to weigh in on the controversy. A vast majority of the scientists say students would be harmed if the state requires the teaching of the "weaknesses" of evolution, according to the survey conducted for the Texas Freedom Network Education Fund, an organization that works on issues involving religious freedom, civil liberties and public education.

Especially as the main “weakness” opponents of the theory of evolution through natural selection of genetic variation see in the theory is that it doesn't comport well to their religious assumptions of de novo creation of all animal species some few thousand years ago.

Gravity is a force. We have a theory about gravity that Newton came up with and Einstein modified and is still being debated.
With the theory of evolution, however, no debate is allowed. It is forbidden and all those who dare question any of its tenets is thrown out of the profession.
But if people want to believe that we started out with a simple life form that figured out how to turn itself into millions and millions of different species of life through random mutation and natural selection, knock yourself out.
I find it preposterous on its face, especially since there is no solid, unbroken chain of evidence from the first life form (which we do not even know what it is), to what we have today. But then who needs evidence when you have dogma?

We are putting our kids at risk? What a bunch of Drama Queens. The entire ToE could be forgotten tomorrow by everyone and it would not make a bit of difference.

No dissension allowed.
Now that’s the scientific spirit!

There are no weaknesses to the Almighty Evolution. How dare you question the book of Abiogenesis.

What are the "weaknesses" of the theory of gravity? Would you argue against teaching them?

Before you know it, they will be polluting our childrens minds with the theory of Gravity! And we certainly can't have them be encumbered by requiring experimental evidence that actually proves the "theory" (like Gravity)...
By the way - how are those fruit-fly mutation experiments coming along? Did we see our first salamander crawl out yet? Spider?

There is no harm in telling children or adults that we don’t know all about the world around us. Even aspects of light remain a mystery.
It is about controlling information and keeping them from having doubts about some things. There certainly have been no reluctance about telling children the worst things in our nation’s past. In fact there have been some efforts to see that the bad of America is pushed in equal or greater coverage than the good.

and can be expressed as a series of well defined mathematical equations, unlike the vacuous Theory Conjecture of Evolution
