McCain to Run in 2010
Roll Call ^ | 11/18/08 | Anna Palmer

After much speculation that his failed presidential bid would be his last campaign, Sen. John McCain (R-Ariz.) has decided to run for re-election to his Senate seat in 2010.

thanks for some sanity in this thread. if mccain retired, we would lose this seat to napolitano. mccain lost, but he doesnt deserve the disrespect hes getting on here.

“..praising barack hussein osama obama as a “decent man” whom we “need not be afraid of,”

If Obama was so decent why did he run against him? I still claim that McCain was not serious in his run for the presidency and perhaps was a closeted Obama supporter.
His personal heroism in Vietnam is negated by his public incompetence in 2008. In the end, he did not do America any favors.

Wouldn’t it be sweet to get a conservative to run against him in the primaries??

THAT would be the LOUDEST message we can send, we’ll send money and defeat McCain in the primaries!!!

if we’re going to get rid of RINO’s this would be the PERFECT place to start, if we could unseat our “figurehead” in the primaries the RINO’s would know that we mean business and that we are the REPUBLICAN party, not the socialists to the democrats Communists.

DJ, do you know if there’s a conservative in AZ to run against McCain in the primaries??

I bet we could raise a million dollars on FR alone to get rid of McCain.

I have to agree. He amazed me with his stamina during the later stages of the campaign. I am almost 20 years younger and I don’t think I could have done it! I voted for him, but up until he got the nomination, I had always said that I would never do so. Despite the fact that he is not my favorite person, he needs to try to keep the seat in Republican hands!

Who will his Republican opponent be?

If he has one, it will be someone nobody has heard of. Electable Republicans won't run against him. I'll not vote for Juan, it's back to voting for the Libertarian running against him.

No doubt it’s time to get rid of the RINO’s . Let’s also make sure that the RINO’s don’t lead us in the House or the Senate either .
RINO Lungren is trying to lead the House ... we need to make sure we get new leadership in the House , but not Lungren .... Bachmann would be a great change ....

He wants to make sure the Democrats have a filibuster-proof majority. I respect his military service, but I truly believe he despises conservatives, and, for the most part, the feeling is mutual.

The video is part of the deprogramming process we need to use against democrats.

Please give us a conservative to run against McCain in the primaries, we could have a whole defeat McCain army here on FR to get behind a conservative to take on McCain.

Where is the brave, conservative Arizonan to take on McCain?? Conservatives across the country will give you our time and money!!!

I get excited just thinking about it.

Nobody has declared, yet. I don’t see any of the sitting Congressmembers doing it. Flake is a squish on illegals, Shadegg went native on the bailout. Franks is too unknown. I wouldn’t mind seeing someone like Randy Graf take a kamikaze run. He was the 8th district nominee against Giffords in ‘06. The RINO establishment hates him.

If the RINO establishment hates him, he sounds like our man!!

He wouldn’t be anonymous for long, this would be the field test to see if CONSERVATIVES are ready to take back the party.

Someone get a message to him and tell him he will have NATIONAL support to defeat McCain!!

If we’re serious about getting rid of the RINO’S, McCain is the PERFECT target.

I was thinking, at least Bob Dole had the common-courtesy to resign during the ‘96 election (and Goldwater’s 2nd Senate term expired in 1965). For McCain, he’s not given up anything. He still holds his seat and since the False Messiah had him wrapped around his finger and kissing his ass, he’ll similarly use him in the next Congress to push through his even-bigger-gov’t schemes all in the name of bipartisanship and keep our party from drawing distinctive differences between the two (and blunt any potential gains in ‘10, if not preventing any at all and having a 3rd election in a row gain for the rodents). It’s why McCain is now very dangerous for us and that he needs to go absolutely.

Well, then find a sound conservative to run against McCain. However, if you insist on total ideological purity, then the GOP is going to be a smaller party incapable of winning national elections. We need the center-rightists.

I, for one am relieved to return to my natural position of despising McCain. I pretended I was voting for Palin.

Do you see many conservatives in the party readying themselves to run against RINO’S in primaries?

We should let them know they will have lots of time and money from the grass roots, we’ve had it UP TO HERE with the RINO’s, they need to tap into our “rage” and know they will be supported.
