Re-emerging from his self-imposed silence, Ayers is trying to escape the negative stigma of his violent past by arguing that he was much less violent than the U.S. government. Here he again attacks the government (in the form of the prison system) for what it does to people that implicitly match his view of himself: folks who have good excuses for violence, crime and anti-social behavior. In Ayers' view, these people don't belong in prison any more than he does.

Lol...
How odd. In a twisted way.
I’m all for his idea ... if they make sure all the released prisoners have to live in his zip code!
New people in the neighborhood.
“In Ayers’ view, these people don’t belong in prison any more than he does.”
I agree with this. They ought to be treated the same, meaning put Ayers in prison where he belongs.
Obama’s family friend.
I wish that he had told us this before the election. Now Bill Ayers wants to talk to us about his beliefs.
How convenient.
Somebody take me in and give me an EBR.
I wrote a letter to the editor today because of Ayers assertion that he didn’t kill or hurt anybody. It needs to be noted that Charles Manson didn’t actually kill or hurt anybody either yet he was convicted of 7 murders in 1971 and has spent every day since in prison. With just a little historical lateration it doesn’t take too much imagination to picture respected educator Charles Manson describing himself as a “friend” of the Obama family does it?
Anybody got an over/under on Sarah Jane Olsen getting a pardon before June? Just thinking, since we’re on the subject of domestic terrorists.....!
Basically: “It was stupid to single him out. All prisoners should go free. And hand them a weapon on their way out.”
Can we send them all to liv with him and Bernie?
I couldn't agree with him more, at least for some of them. Many of them, and Ayers himself, do not belong in prison. They belong six feet under.
you live near trhem billy boy
I would think Ayers would support those people that were out there bombing abortion clinics in the 90’s. They also had the view that the abortionists were much more destructive than they were,, and they were fighting to save lives.
...talk about the inmates running the prison - this guy should be in one!
Hang them instead. It's cheaper and the recidivism rate is lower.
