There actually ARE airlines which believe that all humans are under 5’ tall and 135 lbs and order their aircraft constructed accordingly.

I'm not a big guy, 5'10", 185 lb and the last time I flew it felt like spending two hours in an iron maiden. The fella sitting next to me seemed to be in a similar state of discomfort, and he was maybe 6'0" 210. You know, I'll pay more for some comfort and just fly less frequently.

Flying is now something I truly dread. I'd rather go to the Dr. or Dentist multiple times than endure a three hour flight.

Inside 10-12 hours I’ll drive.

Add security time to actual flight time and luggage retrieval time, rental car procurment, etc, then factor in the what ifs of flying, weather at your destination or distant hub, secuirity alerts and such, THEN factor in the convenience of leaving when you want to or need to and the drive becomes more and more feasible.
