We didn’t have the motto until the 1950s, IIRC, and the nation survived the long, godless period prior to then.

As to whether it should be removed, let’s let the legislature take that one up, rather than having some secular humanist get it struck down in court.

Yes. It’s a violation of the principle of separation of church and state.

No. The motto has historical and patriotic significance and does nothing to establish a state religion.

I voted no but I didn’t like the explanations. I’m a one nation under God...and in God we trust person.

If we remove God, we then return all of it to Washington - willingly.

I was surprised at the numbers myself considering the way the nation seems to be going. Maybe this can be an indication that maybe it hasn’t gone as far south as the other side would like us to believe.

Will they replace it with “In Obama We Trust” if they do remove it?

Also interesting was the gay marriage issue that went down in every state. They say people are more right than left, all we can do is pray that things will turn around as people see what they have elected, Clintons part 2!

Exactly. Lets bankrupt the entire country so we can get rid of “In God we trust”. We can’t afford Liberal leadership. Their feel-good social policies and moral relativism is expensive.
