The JFK Assassination: Your Theories Please
Pajamas Media ^ | November 24 | Ron Rosenbaum

Posted on 11/24/2008 12:59:19 PM PST by AJKauf

Two massive books by Lamar Waldron and Thom Hartmann, most recently Legacy of Secrecy have me going back to the Mob hit theory although I just don’t buy their unnecessary post-assassination cover-up theory which involves a supposed coup against Castro. Like that was more shameful than the murder of a president. But they’ve done a service by digging up the deepest, darkest, most disturbing archival evidence to support their Mob hit theory.

Anyway, I’m interested: what do people think, those of you who still think about it? Some may say, who cares we’ll never know, it’s old news, but I’m not satisfied with that. Historical truth means a lot to me. At one point LBJ said nuclear war was at stake. I want to know if there was someone behind Oswald and why. It’s more important than how Yale could allow Harvard to score two touchdowns (and two two-point conversions) in 42 seconds–though I still can’t reconcile myself to that either...

Could have been Jack Ruby...why else would he shot Oswald? To keep him “quiet” perhaps?

_________________

Watch the beyond conspiracy documentary I posted in this thread, there is a large section on Ruby and the people who knew him.

He was a braggart, a hot head, a wanna be and a gossip. He thought he was going to be a national hero for killing Oswald, he said so many times.

Oswald needed no encouraging, he had tried to kill General Edwin Walker months earlier and suggested to his wife with a young child that they hijack a plane and take it to Cuba, this is Oswald.

As for Communists killing 100 Million in the 20th Century, try 300 Million.

>>>>>>Actually I heard that Woody Harrelson’s father was one of the “three bums.” He recently died in prison, so he ain’t telling tales.<<<<<<

Yeah, he was the tall bum and Haldeman was the bum wearing a hat.

(Caveat: this is all tongue in cheek, I know the story but don’t believe it)

You probably know that Woody tried to spring his Pop from the Florence ADX Supermax but it didn’t work. He was a contract killer, which doesn’t go over well when you’re trying to get a retrial.

Going public where? Remember that the self censorship of the media back then was intense. JFK had a huge cult of personality, which outlived him. Every public school had pictures of him well into the 1970s. Not bad for a president whose accomplishments were minor at best.

Even though it was very limited “public” knowledge, the Kennedy family did not admit to any of his health problems until the 1980s. The media certainly didn’t, beyond back pain.

JFK might have had Addison’s disease as early as 1946, and it is now known that at first, he was only given a year to live. So he obviously intended to keep going until he died. A later diagnosis was that he wouldn’t live past 45, and he has passed that age as well.

So if asked to resign for health reasons, he would have refused. And if he ran for reelection, he probably would have been reelected.

An unanswered question is why LBJ retained JFK’s cabinet, though their was tremendous mutual hatred between him and them. It implies that they had very powerful persuasion at their command.

Hunt was dying. Why would he want to do “a movie” and wait until after his death to do it?

It’s truly amazing that Oliver Stone managed to implicate LBJ, the Mob, the CIA, the Pentagon, and the Cubans, but he couldn’t shoehorn Nixon into the plot.

What a lost opportunity for Ollie!

He was looking for money for his information, it’s not even a disputed point, I can’t tell you his mindset about dying, maybe he thought he would live? Leave it to his family? It’s here nor there, he was looking to cash for his story, that’s not in dispute and why even the conspiracy crowd take his information with a grain of salt.

Strange, the MSM & Govt found fault with every conspiracy witness since day one! No creditability they say. How can that be?

So, I'm supposed to believe only people who support the official line are creditable? Which are dwindling in numbers as time passes on BTW.

Something wrong somewhere!

***Hunt was looking for big money to do a movie, even the biggest quacks take his “confession” with a grain of salt, and that’s saying something.***

JFK’s assassination was a defining moment in my childhood and I have been hopeful ever since that the truth would eventually filter out. Although I think Oswald was involved, I no longer think he was alone. The other day I heard for the first time a recording purporting to be the gunshots which I believe was captured by a motorcycle cop’s open microphone. Hearing that was a sudden revelation to me. Three evenly timed shots rang out within about 2 seconds, allegedly from an Italian Carcano bolt-action rifle. That seems highly implausible to me — I own a Carcano and have shot a variety of bolt-action rifles for 35 years. It takes precious time to move your hand from the trigger to the bolt handle, cycle the bolt up, back, forward, and down again, reposition your finger on the trigger, realign the sights after recoil, and squeeze the trigger, while tracking a moving target. Oswald barely qualified on a semi-automatic Garrand M1 in the military — a bolt-action rifle is slower to shoot. I don’t know how many empty brass Carcano shells were recovered in the book repository, but any discrepancies could have been “fixed”.

Three names involved — Lee, Harvey and Oswald.

Interesting. Those are all names of fictional rabbits.

I've got a theory
It could be bunnies

Bunnies aren't just cute as everybody supposes
They got them hoppy legs and twitchy little noses
And what's with all the carrots?
What do they need such good eyesight for anyway?
Bunnies, bunnies
It must be bunnies

***Kennedy survived. His skin was died black, and he’s living out his later years at a rest home in East Texas.***

But, but I remember way back about 1967 or 1968 the National Enquirer claiming Kennedy was alive but brain damaged living on the Onassis estate in the Greek Isles. They even had a telephoto picture of someone looking like JFK in a wheel chair and his hear wrapped in a bandage.

If it is the National Enquirer it must be gospel!

So, the autopsy photos are probably just a wax dummy.

See the post above yours, even quacks admit he was looking for money, i guess the conspiracy theorists are now ALSO working for the government as double agents to pin this crime on the innocent Oswald./s

“the stunning taped deathbed confession of E. Howard Hunt”

Wow, a deathbed confession! How utterly convincing! Too bad he couldn’t point to any actual evidence while he was at it.

“JFK had a huge cult of personality, which outlived him. Every public school had pictures of him well into the 1970s. Not bad for a president whose accomplishments were minor at best.”

Of course you realize this is so because he was martyred. The same thing happened to Lincoln: widely despised in his own time, beloved by history.

“So if asked to resign for health reasons, he would have refused”

We need not ask the president to resign, if he was in fact insane, as you implied he would have become.

Not really. Obama is using old Clinton cronies, and he and the Clintons are at much greater odds than Johnson and Kennedy were. It’s not as if Johnson could have gotten away with piling on a bunch of good old boys from Texas. There’s a lot to be said for continuity after a shock to the body politic.

“Going public where? Remember that the self censorship of the media back then was intense.”

Be that as it may, those in the know that wanted him dead, as you imply, could have at least tried leaking the story to Kennedy’s opponents before taking the huge step of assassinating him.

“Something wrong somewhere!”

Not really. Plenty of people still defend international communism, despite the evidence.

I give the MSM great credit for standing by the Warren Report. Even a broken clock’s right twice a day.

“Which are dwindling in numbers as time passes on BTW.”

I hardly believe that’s true. Certainly, more assassination books defend conspiracy theories than otherwise, but that’s because non-conspiracy nuts have no motive to prove what they believe is already settled. A fair way to measure conspiracy nuts against mainstreamers would be to poll professional historians, most of whom, I assume, don’t buy the theories.
