A jury on Monday determined that the Holy Land Foundation and five men who worked with the Muslim charity were guilty of three dozen counts related to the illegal funneling of at least $12 million to the Palestinian terrorist group Hamas.
The unanimous verdicts are a complete victory for the government, which streamlined its case and worked hard to carefully educate jurors on the complex, massive evidence presented in the trial. Guilty verdicts were read on 108 separate charges.
The prosecution victory is also a major one for the lame duck administration of President George Bush, whose efforts at fighting terrorism financing in court have been troubled, even though the flow of funds seems to be effectively shut down.
It was the second trial where the government attempted to convict the men and the now defunct Richardson-based Holy Land Foundation itself. It took the jury eight days of deliberations to reach its decisions less than half the time it took jurors to deadlock end up with an almost complete mistrial last year on the first go-around.
My dad is not a criminal! sobbed one courtroom observer after the verdicts were read. Hes a human!

Outstanding!.... but surprising. A lot of guilty people being set free by stupid juries these days.
Boo-freakin'-hoo!
Dude/dudette, your dad is a criminal. His humanity is open to question, however.
Let’s see how much time is actually served.
Oh this is good news right about when we needed good news.
Sometimes justice prevails.

Unless Bush pardons Border Patrol Agents Ramos and Campion at the 11th hour, expect these terrorist funders to be pardoned before the guys who were protecing *your* kids and/or grandkids aginst drug smugglers.
When will they begin killing the jurors.
News flash: The two are not exclusive. Have fun visiting daddy in prison, hope you join him in jail when they catch you being a conduit for him trying to continue his criminal activities.
True, kid. He's a terrorist. And if we had any sense of self-preservation as a society, not to mention, any stones, we'd have simply given him a drumhead court-martial and shot him some rosy dawn.
These creeps still want to force-feed us Sharia: a legal code with no speech, religion, or women's rights. I say, if you want Sharia, go to jail or go home.
d.o.l.
Criminal Number 18F
Now Americans should demand these criminal terrorist charties and there supporters be thrown out of the United States!
I believe this is the case where the jury in the first trial was hung because it was infiltrated with a Palestinian activist nutcase, that spent the deliberation period engaging in anti Israel rants and browbeating the other jurors.
Ping! Ping! Ping a few Texans !! :)
Shut up. Please.
I’m so tired of the whiny, bitter, sarcastic slapshots on Free Republic.
We need a place of reason and sanity, a place where we can discuss issues with thought and intelligence, especially given the challenge we face as Obama takes office.
This is not a perfect world, never will be. There’s plenty to criticize. But to suggest that President Bush is on the side of terrorists is just over the top.
Another thing to be Thankful for this week: that downtown Dallas didn’t get blown up during either trial. I was seriously concerned that something would happen.
Sweet.
