I’m betting the crowd was egged on by a media presence. Isn’t inciting a riot against the law, even if it does make for exciting footage on the evening news?

Nassau County Police are still investigating and would not confirm the witness accounts.
Look at the security video. Walmart has cameras watching....lots of cameras....watching.

Lock them all inside and ID them. Arrest those on video that touched them.

As an overnight cashier at Wal-Mart, I can only say that people in small town Kansas are not that abd. What did Wal-Mart have that was worth rushing the doors for? Well, our store is open all night so we didn’t have a sudden rush at the doors.

Anyone watch "World's Dumbest Shoppers" on TV last night? Pretty much nothing but Black Friday mayhem.
Depressingly, my mom called to tell me she's going to be in line at Walmart at 4:00 am. I asked why? Because they have those little food processors on sale for $4! Mom, you already have one of those little food processors! Maybe I should call her to make sure she's alright.
I'm going to stick with my plans for today which are to stay home, watch TV and eat turkey and pumpkin pie until I'm comatose.

Circuit City was giving numbers to the crowd. You got there, you got a number, you went back to your car. No crush, no fights, no broken merchandise, no stealing from other’s carts.
I went to Office Depot. NO merchandise was on the floor. You got into a line, they called you to your register, you asked for your item, a worker got it from the back room, you paid and you walked out.
When I did do Walmart a few years ago, I was at the back of the line and when the doors opened, people rushed in from cars. They handle things badly.

Sad story — but the doom mongers in Washington who have been claiming that the economy is “collapsing” in order to expand Federal control over it have just been shown to be liars.
