Oh, another thing, Doug Kmiec, will I be seeing you at the Right to Life March in Washington in January? Or will you be too hung over from the drunken Obama love fest at the inaurgural balls?

Commenting on this guy is difficult because it is so hard to find the words to express how much I loath him. Let me just say I would not like to be standing next to him on Judgement day.

Salmon produces the now well-known Doug Kmiec, a conservative academic who teaches law at Pepperdine University. Kmiec early endorsed Obama for president, justifying his support for the abortion-minded candidate by claiming that legal efforts to restrict abortion have failed.

Eventually Kmiec will have to live with his naive decision to support Obama. Just thinking about how Obama fought the 'Born Alive Protection Act' in Ill. shows how COLD AND RUTHLESS he is about the unborn.

no body ever heard of this guy before the press started calling him a Catholic leader...

He’s a front man for a stealth destruction of abortion as an issue among the prolife people. What makes it worse is that the press didn’t bring up abortion as an issue (see the Pew poll on the lack of stories) so most Catholics aren’t aware of obama’s radical position in promoting abortion...

Kimec, a Jesuit Catholic. Jesuits infest our universities and turn Catholic doctrine upside down. The Judas sold out for a judgeship leading to an Obama appointment to Supreme Court. Our dumb ass senators won’t lift a finger to stop him. Sad to sell out millions of babies for personal gain.

Kmiec is no different than Senator Bob Casey Jr. of Penna..

Kmiec will continue to be honored and praised by the majority of the Cardinals and Bishops.

Has anybody heard Cardinal Roger Mahoney come out against any of the Pro Abortion Catholics? In fact Mahoney gives these people, e.g. Mayor Villagarosa, Congesswomen Sanchez, etc. Holy Communion during his campains for amnesty of illegal immigration.

Catholics are the leading proponents of abortion. Just Look at the Senate and the House of Representatives, The Majority are Catholics.

Why have the majority of Catholics voted for Pro
Abortion, Obama?

I give up on Catholics AND DON’T UNDERSTAND HOW THEY SAY THEY ARE PRO LIFE BUT VOTE PRO ABORTION!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Kmiec's logic simply does not compute. Giving up on pro-life activities because you can't outlaw abortion (yet) does not in and of itself include embracing a pro-infanticide poliician.

Yet, that's what Kmiec says must be done ~ just give up fixing the law and jump in bed with a guy who wants to kill babies after they're born ~

Yeah, made a deal with the dark side. As I said, if he is appointed to a federal judgeship we’ll know the cost of his soul.

What failed was Kmiec’s ability to resist the siren song of liberalism. Sadly it is devoted Catholics who often fall victim to it’s allure, crashing their ships of morality on the rocks.

The unfortunate fact is that kind and compassionate people are instinctively drawn to the superficial message of liberalism that calls for caring for one’s fellow man, feeding the poor, clothing the naked and assisting those in need. We all know them, especially we who are involved in the Catholic Community.

Those of us who have taken a moment to understand the holes and fallacies in liberalism (and in many ways the hidden evils) are able to withstand the naive and simplistic need to dispense other people’s wealth willy-nilly to those who appear to be in need. But every now and then even the most rigid of us can temporarily lapse and give in. I see it all the time working in a major legislative body. Devout Christians, especially Catholics will give in now and then to the cries for “compassion” when their intellect tells them otherwise, and they cast the occasional vote for something seemingly very leftist. They ALL do it. Fortunately most regain their sensibility and recover from these momentary lapses.

Kmiec on the other hand has appeared to have completely collapsed under the pressure. He saw the Obama train leaving the station and all the fun people were aboard — all his friends and colleagues waved him on in the name of “doing good”. It’s quite sad really. He boarded the train and left the babies in the station because he was too week to hold out for the common sense that deep down he knows is still true. I predict that when the euphoria wears off Kmiec will go through a period of sadness and doubt as his better senses try to surface and take hold again.

It’s my belief that he covets a SCOTUS seat. Of course, 0bamma will never nominate him, given his past track record. I bet he doesn’t even get a federal appointment of any kind.

Kmiec is a judas goat, an apostate and a Vichy Catholic all rolled into one. Not to mention that he is delusional.

And another old bumper sticker — Who knows, maybe they are still around —

“Aren’t you glad your mother didn’t have an abortion?”

That is very interesting. I had missed the tidbit about the possible promise of a judgeship.

Hmmmm.

Given that the pro-life cause will not ultimately succeed without bi-partisan support, and given that the Democratic Party is dominated by pro-aborts, aren't weasel-like pro-life Democrats necessary for the eventual reform of the party and the nation?

While Kmiec may be damaging the pro-life cause, incompetent Republican pro-lifers have done far more damage. By advancing bad policies in other areas, they handed the Dems control of Congress and the presidency.

Why does it look like Kmiec is being scapegoated to distract from Republican failures?

**The fact is, however, that, after all the tortured reasoning and misrepresentation of the positions of others, Doug Kmiec has put himself into the position of supporting for president a candidate whose track record and publicly stated views represent the extreme position of pro-abortion advocacy against the Church’s repeatedly stated teaching, at the highest level of magisterial authority, respecting the moral and political imperative to protect innocent human lives. **

Good article. Has that been posted here?
