Show! Me! The! Money!!!

Or “What an idiot you are!”

So how much of the university do you all think she’ll own at the end of the day?

You wanted an explaination of how the 2nd could be applied. The implementation of the 2nd Amendment is reserved for when government or society breaks down completely. We are not there yet.

If you want to debate, debate.

If you want to be an arrogant ass, continue being your normal self.

True, but if the University of Toledo is government funded, this incident could qualify as an infringement of the 1st Amendment.

If it were a private institution, all bets are off.

I hope she takes it to court.

Name calling. Splendid argument!
I don’t even reciprocate with that sort, much less debate.

Yes there is a difference. She was responding to an article on the basis of their presumption and within their points of argument. Didn’t read it did you.

“WTF??/ So blatant???? geez... I hope she wins a TON of money”

I believe there is more to the story. It seems Ms. Dixon was being paid $134,383 per year to “ensure equity and diversity in employment practices” at UT. She was one of those “diversity officers.” The University is claiming that her column could have put them at legal risk if they had turned down a gay person for a job. That person could have sued the institution, claiming that their “diversity” officer was publishing anti-gay columns in the paper.

Sounds to me like the school is trying to make the case that her expression of her personal beliefs in the public square was directly related to her ability to do her job. I don’t think she has an open-and-shut case here.
