Si............
Another Fred Thompson?
He’ll be an excellent Senator that I can be proud to vote for...........not just pick the lesser of two evils and hold my nose........
Adam Putnam or Jeb would be better picks.
McCollum is a good man, like Fred Thompson. And like Fred’s run in 2008, McCollum’s run in 2000 was lackluster and lacked the excitement of the American Idol style campaigns we are supposed to do now. Perhaps he has learned something since. And perhaps a couple of years of harsh economic realities will force the sheeple to consider that competence just might be more important than showmanship.
Jeb Bush is another pro-amnesty, anti-drilling vote.
Let’s retire the Bush family now.
It is not McCollum turn to run if he cannot win.
IIRC, McCollum did yeoman work during Slick Willie’s impeachment.
But then, so did Lindsey Graham...
I would be surprised if MANY CONSERVATIVE CANDIDATES don’t run for this seat, and this would, unfortunately, be bad news, once again, for conservatives. Many conservatives running for the same seat would, yet again, allow a RINO, “pro-amnesty for illegal immigrant” GOP candidate to win in the Republican primary over a conservative candidate. The serious question is this: How many times will conservatives keep running a bunch of candidates for a variety of political offices only to have RINO candidates end up as the final candidates during the GOP primary season?
I’m still trying to understand how anyone could lose to that stiff Bill Nelson? Perhaps it was blowback from being one of the impeachment managers...
But, I'm OK now. :)
another retread in my opinion....career politician...
McCollum has some decent positions, but he is deadly dull and doesn’t do very well running for elective office. I turned down a chance to vote for him once before...
We need to keep this seat. I wish Jeb Bush could be persuaded to run.
too bad Mel didn’t resign immediately and let Crist appoint McCollum as his replacement. (I know , I know, Charlie would probably appoint a Kennedy..)
I agree.. I am Bush’d out.
I think it is also important that the GOP retains the office of AG. However, if McCollum is our best chance he ought to run.
Forget Jebbie. No More Bushes of any kind
Conservatives have been doing such for years in CA and OH in particular.
My pick for this position would be someone most of you have never heard of. Her name is Rhonda Storms, and she is currently a State Senator out of Tampa. Google her and look at all the vitriolic web sites that immediatley pop up. That alone should tell you all you need to know, but take the time to read what she has done, and is still doing. This woman is as fearless and unapologetic a conservative as you’ll find.
