Hollywood stars Jane Fonda and Jack Nicholson are among the 2008 inductees into the California Hall of Fame.
First Lady Maria Shriver started the program to honor artists, sports figures and others who've helped shape the state.
Other new inductees include musicians Dave Brubeck and Quincy Jones, physical fitness guru Jack LaLanne, sculptor Robert Graham and chef Alice Waters.

Jane Fonda.
Way to go, Maria. You run a helluva’n operation.
You have got to be kidding!
Well, what do you expect from an angry anorexic??
Would love to Freep the awards show!
Fonda? You mean Hanoi Jane? I thought she was dead...
I can’t believe they snubbed OJ and Michael Jackson.
They have a posthumous category as well.. not sure about deviates and murderers tho.. ;-)
For a split second, my eyes betrayed me.
I really do like Dave Brubeck’s music and I’ve worked with Alice Waters while working for The Seed Savers Exchange. She bought a lot of seed from us for her school gardening projects, something that is near and dear to me.
I WANT the next generation to know where their food comes from and how to grow it...because I’m going to be old and feeble in the near future and will need to be fed at some point, when I can no longer feed myself, LOL!
I absolutely HATE it when I like ANYTHING about individual liberals. It really makes my head hurt. ;)
I hear ya.. not out to stir up a storm over this hall of fame and the individuals. Many niominees and some of the liberals actually are decent folk for the most part and as liable to get misled and act a bit odd in the polling booths as the last couple election cycles have shown, even here. ;-)
Education is the only cure for that.. and maybe a good depression, unfortunately, to snap us out of this hellbent rush to socialism and elitism rule.
Does this thing spend even one taxpayer dollar?
...but they were innocent. Set up by the Man. ;-)
Fonda?
The seedy, amoral, over-rated Nicholson?
When are the ceremonies for the equally accomplished Carl Chessman and Charles Manson?
It is housed in the California Museum .. sooo.. Maria was the driving force to get it up and running there.

C’mon, that’s next year’s group.
They'll be on the list right after Thomas Mooney, Vincent Hallinan and Harry Bridges.
