In a three-page letter to Obama dated Wednesday, officials from El Paso argue that the fence, a project approved by Congress in 2006, was ill-conceived and is an irresponsible expense while the country is in the midst of a recession. No, as an investment in infra-structure it's extremely worthwhile. Think of all the jobs building the fence has created.

WE cant afford to build a fence but we can afford to bail out banks and continue to let illegal aliens rape us for benefits and steal our jobs?
Who are these “officials”? And why do they think texas will be better off with a scuttled fence project than with a fence project that creates jobs and brings in all that federal money from washington?

was ill-conceived and is an irresponsible expense while the country is in the midst of a recession. Well... considering liberals like government programs to "fix the economy", then why would they be against this? Just make certain that ALL people hired to build the fence are AMERICAN CITIZENS who needed work...
So the opposition would imply that there is an ulterior motive here...wonder what it could be (/sarcasm)

In the 4th grade at Rusk Elementary in El Paso, we said the Lords Prayer. Our teacher told us the Supreme Court said it was illegal but she did not care because we were in Texas. This was around 1969. What I find shocking is that Texans are now unwilling to defend Texas, much less the United States.
