On Monday, December 8, 2008, at 1:30 pm, the We The People Foundation will conduct a press conference at the National Press Club in Washington D.C.

The licensed attorneys who initiated lawsuits in PA (Philip Berg), NJ (Leo Donofrio) and CA (Orly Taitz), challenging Mr. Obama's legal eligibility to hold the Office of President of the United States, will briefly summarize the facts, legal arguments and status of their cases. They will answer questions from the press.

Prior to the start of the conference, at 10 am, the Supreme Court of the United States is expected to announce whether it will consider applications from these attorneys who have asked the Court to delay the proceedings of the Electoral College pending a determination of the underlying constitutional question - the meaning of the "natural born citizen" clause of Article II of the Constitution and its application to Mr. Obama.

/The meaning of 'Natural Born'/hope this does turn into a variation of the meaning of is. . .whereas some 'new' Constitutionalist decides that it is no more than 'citizenship by natural desire'. . .

Words mean things, of course; and our Constituion means - what is says.

The fact that BHO refuses to produce the original of his birth certificate can only mean that he is not a natural born citizen.

What other reason could there possibly be??

Cannot think of one ‘good’ reason. Does not really require tin foil hat’ here; we only needs the facts - as inconvenient as they may be; and appear to be.

I like the idea of him becoming President in total violation of the Constitution.

Because then we all only have to obey laws we agree with and which we find convenient. Obama was a lecturer in Constitutional Law, so he is setting a great example.

In my case, the Income Tax laws are really annoying and I’m really sick of obeying them. I also disagree with speed limits in certain areas.

If Obama is found out not to have been born in the U.S. he should not only be barred from the Presidency but arrested. But we all know we will be lucky to get rid of him no matter what because our Constitution doesn't mean anything to many people.

Obama does not like the "Natural born citizen clause" of the Constitution. His law firm made a very feeble attempt to change it a few years ago. They wrote some disparaging articles about it - smugly believing that they were somehow smarter than the founding fathers in the area of Constitutional Law. The founding fathers worried that our nation would be swayed by some handsome, smooth talking foreigner with a completely missing background and history taking the public or a large segment of the public by storm.

So he doesn't like that part of the Constitution and so has decided to ignore it.

I really dislike the 16th Amendment. It came into the Constitution by accident and has turned into an unmanageable monster and means of changing a free society into a Socialist one through stealth and taxation.

Here is the story:

Passed by Congress on July 2, 1909, and ratified February 3, 1913, the 16th amendment established Congress's right to impose a Federal income tax.

Far-reaching in its social as well as its economic impact, the income tax amendment became part of the Constitution by a curious series of events culminating in a bit of political maneuvering that went awry.

The financial requirements of the Civil War prompted the first American income tax in 1861. At first, Congress placed a flat 3-percent tax on all incomes over $800 and later modified this principle to include a graduated tax. Congress repealed the income tax in 1872, but the concept did not disappear.

After the Civil War, the growing industrial and financial markets of the eastern United States generally prospered. But the farmers of the south and west suffered from low prices for their farm products, while they were forced to pay high prices for manufactured goods. Throughout the 1860s, 1870s, and 1880s, farmers formed such political organizations as the Grange, the Greenback Party, the National Farmers’ Alliance, and the People’s (Populist) Party. All of these groups advocated many reforms (see the Interstate Commerce Act) considered radical for the times, including a graduated income tax.

In 1894, as part of a high tariff bill, Congress enacted a 2-percent tax on income over $4,000. The tax was almost immediately struck down by a five-to-four decision of the Supreme Court, even though the Court had upheld the constitutionality of the Civil War tax as recently as 1881. Although farm organizations denounced the Court’s decision as a prime example of the alliance of government and business against the farmer, a general return of prosperity around the turn of the century softened the demand for reform. Democratic Party Platforms under the leadership of three-time Presidential candidate William Jennings Bryan, however, consistently included an income tax plank, and the progressive wing of the Republican Party also espoused the concept.

In 1909 progressives in Congress again attached a provision for an income tax to a tariff bill. Conservatives, hoping to kill the idea for good, proposed a constitutional amendment enacting such a tax; they believed an amendment would never received ratification by three-fourths of the states. Much to their surprise, the amendment was ratified by one state legislature after another, and on February 25, 1913, with the certification by Secretary of State Philander C. Knox, the 16th amendment took effect. Yet in 1913, due to generous exemptions and deductions, less than 1 percent of the population paid income taxes at the rate of only 1 percent of net income.

This document settled the constitutional question of how to tax income and, by so doing, effected dramatic changes in the American way of life.

Obama is banking on the 16th amendment.
But I don't like it at all.
So, if he does not have to obey the Constitution, why does anybody else?

Obama does not need to abide by the Constitution?
If so, nobody does.
I will not be filing that 1040 if he gets in illegally.

Are you saying he’s banking on a repeal of the “natural born citizen clause?” If not, please forgive and explain, I’m a little under the weather.

I keep thinking the same thing. If he is found to be in violation of the Constitution he then knowingly defrauded the American people. I would start there, but there is or may be more going on than we think.

Some here say Biden would assume the role of President, I say the whole upper level of the DNC comes under legal scrutiny and even the silencing of the Press has raised our eyebrows.

This feels like a coup attempt. We have observed now for several years high ranking democrats literally run amok, endanger our national security, etc. with impunity. Have we all not asked the question, “Isn't that potentially treason?”

On these counts I fault the Bush Administration. The administration has/had a responsibility to keep congressional critters in line.

Don’t know but I’ll bet we are all going to find out.

I think this thing will turn into a huge investigation.

National Press Club.....isn’t that where they send all the “sensitive” stories to die or where the commies send all the people who won’t shut up to bury them with character assassination?

We agree, all of this is GWB’s fault for his inertia and lack of success in office.

Not filing a 1040 is a Federal crime. Its a misdemeanor, but with a little bit of urging they can make it a Felony.

Besides, if you're governed by withholding they already have your money and all you're doing by filing is trying to get some of it back.

The legal way to avoid Obama is to get a Nevada LLC or S Corporation to funnel your money into and then deduct your expenses from your pretax dollars as expenses of the business. Then you pay yourself a subsistence wage (under $250,200, or 120k whatever the Obama trigger for confiscatory taxes are)and retain the rest in the Corporation where you invest it.

Bottom line is don't be a jerk because there is going to be one in the White House.

So when does the Electoral College vote? I thought it was today. If so this would all be after the vote.

I don't think so.
I think he simply ignored a law he did not like and is using the Bart Simpson theory of getting away with things.

It is better to beg forgiveness later,
than to ask permission now.

I am being a bit facetious and venting, but if Barry Soetoro has chosen to ignore laws he does not like, why can't everyone?

Am I the only one who seems to remember a quote from Obama, not sure of the source, where he stated he was “born in Kenya to a single mother?”

“We agree, all of this is GWB’s fault for his inertia and lack of success in office.”

President Bush has been wonderful in protecting the country from foreign enemies. He has been terrible at protecting it from domestic enemies.

The entire MSM and the bogus Valerie Plame “issue” is a good example of domestic enemies who worked hard to undercut our troops, but who had no real response from the Bush administration.
