oh no! You’re wrong! It is impossible to be a racist if you are black. You need to watch The Oprah Show more often. She will teach you many things.
I am sooooo pleased with Sarah over this. Sarah please, please stick to your guns no matter what. We love you.
“The best reason I can think of for Sarah not to go on Oprahs show is that she might not be able to resist throwing a harpoon at her.” - or better yet, field dress her!
The Bible has an interesting verse in Philippians 2, about being careful to not think too highly of ourselves. It always reminds me of Oprah when I read it. NO ONE ever turns Oprah down. Everyone gushes on the couch when questionned by her, even when she violently disagrees with their faith or politics or conversative family lifestyle. The fact that Oprah has always been so outspoken against modeling marriage for our society (as she is placed up so high as a “role model” in every other aspect) is sickening. She alone (in my opinion) has undermined the sanctity of marriage single-handedly by flaunting her “shack up” relationship with Stedman all these years, having the benefits of marriage without being mature enough to make a legal commitment to him. What is the difference, really? She’s living as a “pretend married couple”, but doesn’t want to make it official? It’s hypocritical of all the “goodwill” and “honor” she says she stands for, especially as a black woman in this society. Of ALL people in the public eye, SHE should be the one teaching the younger black generation of girls how to live and conduct themselves with dignity in marriage.
I, too, hope and pray that Gov. Palin does NOT give in to “doing the Oprah show”. Oprah is not worthy of her. Oprah needs someone to “not think so highly of her” — and to not treat her like the goddess she believes she is. Think about it — who on the planet in Oprah’s life DOESN’T treat her like a queen on the throne from on high? What employee or friend or neighbor would EVER just treat her like everyone else in their life?
You go, Governor Palin! (I’m just imagining Oprah actually calling her “Sarah” on that couch! What an insult!)
Too funny! ";^)
