Zimbabwe's government has accused former colonial ruler Britain of using a cholera epidemic to rally Western support for an invasion of the collapsing southern African nation, a state-run newspaper said on Sunday.
President Robert Mugabe is under mounting pressure from the international community, especially Western nations which accuse him of ruining the once prosperous country and exposing its people to famine and disease.
British Prime Minister Gordon Brown has branded Mugabe's government a "blood-stained regime" and said it was responsible for the cholera epidemic that has killed at least 575 people. The world must tell Mugabe "enough is enough," he said.
U.S. Secretary of State Condoleezza Rice said on Friday the veteran leader's departure from office was long overdue.
The growing Western criticism signaled a plot to oust Mugabe's government militarily, Mugabe's spokesman George Charamba said.

Mugabe is a racist thug, a tyrant who deserves a date with the gallows. That means the international community will award him the Nobel Peace Prize.
They should be so Lucky as to have the English invade.

I hope to Brits do mount an invasion. We should be glad to hold their coats if they do so.
It would be a teaching moment for the Left in U.S. and the U.K. for the Brits to apply the Bush doctrine to Zimbabwe.
Failing states that threaten their own citizens and other states sacrifice their sovereignty in the course of doing so. Zimbabwe, on the geo-political level, is a public health risk to the international community. The rest of the world has both a political and moral warrant to contain the contagion.
It would be the height of irony if the Left calls of for the application of the Bush doctrine to Zimbabwe. Since the Left is shameless in its hypocrisy I will not be surprised if they do so.

Nah, the UK nor any military force should intervene, Zimbabwe should collapse under the weight of it’s corrupt and failed regime.

I agree. Anybody who invades/rescues Zimbabwe is taking them on as wards. Remember how well the Somalia “rescue” turned out?

It is not going to happen.
An invading force would have to cross Mozambique or South Africa and no nouthern African Nation would assist, or even tolerate, Britain to invade an African country.
