I remember her, Navy Gal. She did respectably against rat Congresswoman Corrine Brown in 2000 prior to winning a legislative seat. She’s be termed out for 2010.

I don’t remember exactly what the partisan balance was in the old seat but her 42% against Brown at least matched the GOP base vote.

Nah it would have too much sense to have her run for higher office.

“Recreational Interest: stained glass creation, traveling”

LOL. I hope she continues in politics.

She’s also attractive and we got the same birthday, too (although we have to share it with LBJ, Mother Teresa, Bob Kerrey and Pee-Wee Herman, what an august bunch).

I have no opinion of Sarah Palin other than she is handling her family and her job as I would — to the very best of her ability and judgment (which judgment I hold to be just fine). Beyond that, I have no opinion. If the stories about her are untrue, then John McCain is a bigger jerk than I heretofore believed. Katie Couric has proved the Peter Principle once again. Peggy Noonan and I share the “emo” view of life and, apparently, so did most of the “American Idol” voting public. That, my dear thinking Freepers, is what we are faced with — we have to touch the feelings of America and that is where those of my Republican Party who think like you allude missed the point.

Peggy Noonan has gone native.

Careful with your associations.

She never calls and never writes me anymore. Was it something I said, you think?

Lighten up. I'm just saying Reagan was the “Master” of touching the heart of the nation. Gov. Palin was the subject of this thread (kind’ve) and she's still an apprentice. If she runs and is selected, she'll get my support.

Keep dreaming, noob.

'Noob'? LMAO. Is this junior high?

Were it up to me, I'd start by running idiots like you out of the party.

It's not up to you. Is it?

Got anything else in your threadbare quiver today? Later.

Sorry it took so long Terpfan to respond to your cordial and smart response - I’ve been traveling on biz.

I agree with you 100%. You and I both know that “Reaganesque” Conservatism is THE most honorable, beneficial and useful political ideology in mankind’s history. It is. Where and when it is implemented ... it succeeds.

It is the most empowering and enlightened force multiplying, empowering political ideology in human history.

I believe it!!! I do! Because of unequivocal results.

But: How do we sell it to a citizenry who care only about “Dancing With the Stars”, “The View” and Fantasy Football?

That’s the political challenge here. How do we reach that huge bloc? I don’t like being where we are right now.

Hey now, I play fantasy football. :)

Remember, many of these are the same people who voted for Reagan. They are not automatically or instinctively opposed to conservatism: quite the opposite, they’re quite receptive to it. But we have to put forth a candidate who can articulate it. And that person has to be, well, a person. One of the reasons Reagan was “made of teflon” is because of his grandfather-like atmosphere: no one could believe any of the stuff Democrats said about him because no one thought he would intentionally do something wrong.

From what I can tell, Zero got elected because people thought he’s a tax cutter. McCain ceded the tax issue to him. It’s going to take a candidate who has the balls to call the Democrat out in order to win.
