I’m no fan of bathroom buggery either. Ick. I just don’t know why it’s illegal to ask someone for sex UNLESS he was offering to pay for it. Was he? I’m not too up on this case; it’s not one that has really tweaked my attention until just now when I realized he wasn’t just exposed as a scandal, he was charged with a crime.

Heck, I’d name at least one male RINO as a wide-stancer, but I only suspect (and fear I am motivated because he is a pathetic RINO), so I won’t say.

I was probably in 7th or 8th grade when I first realized I was attracted to undercover cops....

The AP mentions his party in the second paragraph.

My guess is that it’s illegal to do so in a public place. Probably a blind eye is turned to such an act in a bar but an airport restroom is not the same environment.

I don't know much about this case other than what I read on FR, but that won't stop me from giving an opinion.

When I first heard of this case I felt it was strange. Airport bathrooms are NOT an area that I could ever suspect as a “meeting site”. He does not seem to be the type of guy who engages in such activities (but truly, who knows), and in his 60’s, probably does not know much about the “gay signals” that need to be sent to join the club.

My first thought? A setup, not a sting.

Airport bathrooms are seldom clean and I have resorted to a wise stance myself to keep my shoes clean. Tapping? It could have been interpreted by the officer as anything, just looking for a way to arrest the easiest target.

It is just too strange the way this happened and was reported.

*****

Back in the 80’s a couple of local sheriffs depts in Texas started busting people for using highway rest stops as meeting places. It was later determined that NONE of the people arrested (at least by one sheriff in N Texas) was guilty. The arrested citizens pled guilty to a lessor offense and paid a fine rather than make the arrest public knowledge.

Whole scheme unraveled when an arrested citizen was beaten and raped while in the county jail. Sheriff knew they were bogus arrests but he sure had a way to strong arm cash out of travelers and businessmen.

*****

There is a local radio show that used to have a bit on Gay Rodeo where staff will get wired and try to get picked up in a local park. These radio jockeys don't go to the airport, or to rest stops. They go to a park in the middle of the metrosexual area in Dallas. It improves their chances of shock radio.

*****

All told, Sen Craig and Republicans get tarred by a broad brush by the media, while the MSM would never out one of their own.

it’s illegal to indicate to someone that you want to have sex with them??

It is if you're a Republican.

However, it seems to be just fine if you're a Democrat, and even better if your "boyfriend" runs a gay brothel or is a top executive of a GSE that is behind the destruction of the US economy and you Chair the committee that has oversight of that GSE.

I agree that Craig needs to just away, but here's what it boils down to:

Larry Craig went into an airport bathroom,  tapped the guy next to him with his foot, then reached over with his left hand and touched the leg of the guy in the next stall. The guy in the next stall turned out to be a cop who accused him of soliciting. Craig pleaded guilty to disorderly conduct and paid a fine.

Here is what Barney Frank did. He answered a personal ad from a male prostitute, Stephen Gobie,  Frank began to pay Gobie for sex and even had Gobie to move in with him. When the relationship ended, Gobie revealed to the press that he had been running a full-service prostitution ring out of Frank's apartment.

While I try not to give it a whole lot of thought, it is my understanding that the illegal part is the public nature of the sex the bathroom boys engage in. I gather that it is illegal to have sex in the men’s room, and, by extension, to solicit for public sex is illegal.

Otherwise, they’d just be hitting on each other in the airport bar.

Ah. Okay, I guess that makes sense.

Second sentence. Compare to the stories out today regarding Illinois Gov. Blagojevich .

Good.

He should be punished severely, just like Barney Frank was for having a homosexual prostitution ring running out of his basement by one of his occasional same sex partners.

Which of course he knew nothing about.

Just like he knows nothing about all the democrats (himself included) who wouldn't do anything FOR YEARS about the practice of loaning money to people that couldn't qualify to pay it back.

Let's use the same standard and give Craig pockets full of money for corruption.

He’s leaving the Senate to spend more time with his family, namely his wife, George Michael.
