McALLEN - Ever on the lookout for drugs, guns and money, customs agents at a Hidalgo County international bridge crossing busted 191 units of an unusual sort of contraband -- hermit crabs.
A 49-year-old Mexican citizen from McKinney, Texas, was crossing back into the United States at the Hidalgo Port of Entry when U.S. Customs and Border Protection officers found a box full of live hermit crabs inside his vehicle and another bag of the crabs in the trunk,..

When my mother in law drowned in a bay in the northwest we were shocked to see 27 alaskan king crab attached to her body, were were able to bring her up the next day too but only 23 the second time.

There was a similar case a few years back of a guy getting caught trying to smuggle in 900 pounds of Mexican bologna in his car.
And yes, it’s taking all my better nature *not* to make a tasteless joke about the crab smuggler.... ;-)

What in the hell was he doing with all those crabs? It’s not like you can eat hermit crabs...can you? I’ve never heard of anyone eating hermit crabs.
