Would the Feds permit him to own the WSJ and NYT? Questionable.

Oh now THAT is delicious, watching the people who sank the NYT fret over Ruppert “Faux News” Murdoch purchasing the NYT..
Ruppert M is a businessman first and foremost, his ideology is the Dollar, which is a gooood thing, even for the slugs at the NYT, if anything, he would turn a profit at that old broken down nag of a paper.
I don’t care about Dowd and Krugman, but that Vichy Republican David Brooks would simply have to go.

Judging from the direction of Fox News during the Obamanation, we won't be able to tell the difference.

I’m not sure if even Murdoch could turn the Times around at this point.

Murdoch owns liberal newspapers, too, around the world. Fox News is conservative not because Murdoch is conservative, but because he saw a market niche not being filled.

It would be even sweeter if Murdoch was able to turn a profit after taking over the NYT. It would show the current crop that you can’t blame the market for everything. I mean, how is the WSJ doing?

It’s good to see that rules are finally followed.

Would the Feds permit him to own the WSJ and NYT? Questionable. No regs that I know of that would preclude foreign ownership of more than one newspaper in the same market. TV stations; No can do. Newspapers; Could well be. But then, I'm no lawyer.
