The attempt by President-elect Barack Obama to distance himself from the scandal erupting in Illinois took a big hit last night with this exclusive report from Chicago’s Fox affiliate. Sources within the investigation say that Rahm Emanuel, Obama’s chief of staff, spoke with Governor Rod Blagojevich on “multiple occasions” about the Senate succession that Blagojevich had wanted to sell to the highest bidder — and that Emanuel will likely be on the FBI wiretaps:

On the surface, this makes sense. The notion that Obama and his team had nothing to say about the Senate appointment and had no contact whatsoever with Blagojevich was ridiculous. Emanuel, with his ties to Illinois politics and his status as Obama’s right-hand man, would make the most likely candidate to handle those negotiations.
That doesn’t necessarily mean that Emanuel knew about Blagojevich’s efforts to extort payment for the selection, but it puts a damper on the idea that Emanuel tipped off the feds, too. It wouldn’t take “multiple” meetings for Emanuel to decide to squeal. If Emanuel continued meeting with Blagojevich, that indicates some kind of negotiating was happening, and that would strongly suggest that Emanuel was working on Blagojevich’s terms. It’s still possible that Emanuel was working with the feds, but why stay silent about it now? They’ve already arrested Blagojevich. Emanuel could now say, “I helped Patrick Fitzgerald when I saw something wrong and worked with them to get him to make explicit statements,” rather than spend this week ducking reporters. The “sources within the investigation” would hardly want to make a cooperating witness look bad, either. Emanuel has been acting like someone advised him to keep quiet to keep from making incriminating public statements, and this may be the reason why.

Back when Clinton was running in 1992, a senior beat reporter for the Atlanta J&C told me that Clinton’s election would be great for him and other reporters because they had so much sleaze on him already!
He was delighted about the prospect of a Clinton presidency, but only for the entertainment value.
Obviously he had transcended simple indignation and even cynicism, indeed he jubilantly embraced the gallows humor of political corruption.

The cold gray light of dawn moment is fast approaching for 0blamus and the people who made him. Only thing more dangerous to your political career than turning your back to your enemies is turning your back on your maker(s) and friends. Your enemies expect you to do them wrong; your friends and makers expect you to open the gates to the palace and let them take what they want. It’s not just the sens and reps on both sides of their respective aisles but those pesky American People. 0blamus was marketed as the ONLY hope for change. “Let ‘em eat cake” is NOT going to cut it with the duped throngs who voted “for change.” They were promised “free pie,” and if there is no pie then they are going to demand meat. Meanwhile, the conservatives/republicans can just sit back and grin: “They got the free lunch they paid for.”
It’s important to remember that it’s the democrat leftists that have the long history for taking their frustrations to the streets and campi when they feel their elected officials have betrayed them or failed to act according to “their will,” not the conservative republicans.

I wonder if the lefties pre-convention calls to “Recreate ‘68” will soon change to “Chicago ‘08?”

You have to be kidding. We're already back on offense before the Inauguration. Rahm blew a 4th and inches with a 7-pt. lead and now we ARE BACK ON OFFENSE JUST A MONTH AFTER THE ELECTION.
And this election was Garbage American Idol: The Presidency; nobody (but us FReepers) "knows" anything about Barry. We will use their own Gossip Industry against them. Just think of how many Idols have been destroyed by the Gossip Industry: Clay Aiken, Jessica Sierra, Nikki McKibbin, Bo Bice, David Hernandez, the Brittenum Twins! It's a goddamn gold mine! (I had to look most of those up -- I never watch that abomination.)
Think out of the box if you want to win 2010 and 2012. We are dealing with an ignorant, intellectually incurious electorate; and the conservative wins -- the future of those who believe in a Constitutional Republic, those who understand the JimRob Declaration of FReedom -- will be awarded to those who understand, embrace, and exploit every nuance of this fact.

Blagogate is an attempt by a sitting governor, and close political ally of the President Elect, to sell the American political system for profit. The fallout from the coverup of this attempted extortion has the potential to surpass Watergate - ....big time!
To sum it up(I get long winded some times), multiple meetings strongly implies knowledge, if not actual participation, of the selling the senate seat, this is a criminal act.

I noticed their ashen faces, body language spoke volumnes when they were seen on tv that day with Gore. The tension was so thick you could cut it with a knife. I seriously thought Biden looked like he had been crying and zerO kept looking at him like “ Are you ok? it’s gonna be ok”. Watch it. Very interesting.

Powell, who's been very vocal of late, begrudgingly (all a ruse) answers the call to service in his country's time of need and accepts the veep position.
1st woman POTUS; 1st Af-Am veep; the DNC gets the Congress back under the heel of the boot/pump where it can be controlled. The People rejoice, and Bubba goes for pizza, beer, and chips. All is right with the left.
Look for who is not talking, not appearing, not in evidence. There you will find the real players in this play within a play. This election was for the DNC about getting a runaway Congress back under its control. Both sides knew McCain would not be able to do it, control would have to "come from within" the ranks of the left.
Mark my words...Rahm Emanuel, if not before the inauguraration, By the end of the year, Will resign as Chief of Staff.
Rohm may be sacrificed and thrown under Zer0’s big wheeled bus.
